Ready Player One and nothing will be close. Maybe it will breakout?

PR2 with a pathetic $2.1 million on Monday...this one will drop a ton (domestic) in weekend #2.

I’m really going to be surprised if Ready Player One has any sort of meaningful success. Outside of the nerd herd, what’s the appeal?

Box-office projections have been revised and they don't look good. RP1 is eyeing $38 million to $42 million over its four-day opening weekend.

That's too bad. I guess some movies just play differently in certain communities. Seriously everyone I know is excited for this and is like the first film this year that all my coworkers have been ecstatic for. Presales have been really good at my theater. If I judged it from just here, I would have expected at least $100+ mil weekend.

Truth Or Dare looks horrendous.
I'm going in the morning for A Quiet Place for sure. Quiet theater and bargain pricing. Can't be beat. Plus, I love that the run time is under 90 mins with credits.

The morning? I usually go to the Thursday early show because not too many people goes to those unless you're a Marvel flick.

That is amazing. A short horror movie is pretty swell.

Which would still be the biggest opening weekend for a non pre-existing franchise since Dunkirk last Summer. And with no other blockbusters until Infinity War, RP1 can have a strong run throughout April. It'll be fine, perhaps even a little better than fine if word of mouth is strong.

A four-day 38 million opening for a 150 million + Spielberg blockbuster seems absolutely awful to me. If reality matches the prediction, I doubt it's gonna hit 100 million total domestically.

$40 million for Thursday to Sunday is a nice haul . You think Infinity Wars can get to $600 million domestic? I can.

Looks like Spielberg is returning to top form with Ready Player One. Headed for $170 global bow . I think RPO will make some big coin and silence the haters . We had a month where the big budget movies: Red Sparrow. WIT, Tomb Raider and PR2 were known critical failures before they started their box office run. People are ready for something fun.

Ready Player One seems to be poised to deliver on all fronts. We’ll be going to see it this weekend .

Sherlock Gnomes will be #1, the theater last night was packed and we're going into Easter weekend with kids out of school for a week.

It opened this past weekend at #4. It's not gonna suddenly jump to #1, especially not against a new release like RP1.
