Black Grandparents are not lining up for Thanos.

Wonder Women also brought in non comic book film goers.

Good luck....domestically.

There is a surprising amount of responses on Chadwick Boseman's Infinity War poster on Twitter that has users saying they were seeing IW simply to see him and support him as Black Panther. Black Panther seriously attracted a very large group of people who are interested in Wakanda/BP.

I don't think so either but I also didn't see this coming with BP, so I won't say "never" on this one.

A drawback would be the running time. The amount of daily showings will be some what limited by that. But then again, they could always have more screens showing it.

13 minutes is a big deal. Number of prints vs screens. Theaters could potentially be open another 3 hours just to meet what bookings/corporate wants.

Couldnt they extended theatre hours just for the opening weekend?

Certain films open at midnight like Star Wars, right?

They do that at least the first two weeks. If you have big screens they are 24/7 for at least 1 week/weekend.

We had 3am shows of the last Harry Potter because we sold 1800 tickets to the midnight.

Disney doing their thing. From Deadline:

Quote:
Avengers: Infinity War’ Will Be Marvel’s Biggest Promo Campaign Yet

With partners such as Coca-Cola, Quicken Loans, and Infiniti, Avengers: Infinity War is receiving the biggest promo push ever for a Marvel title, with a media value estimated north of $150M.

That figure is bigger than the media goods for Spider-Man: Homecoming ($140M) and last summer’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 ($80M).

Seven different partners will serve up TV spots inspired by or featuring the film’s characters and themes. Our sources say the Coca-Cola partnership alone is worth an estimated $40M. Many of the partnership campaigns will be live within the next two weeks and will remain in rotation until well past Infinity War‘s April 27 release.

“Some of these partners are new to the family and some have been friends of the studio for years,” said Mindy Hamilton, Marvel’s SVP Global Partnerships & Marketing. “What they all share, though, is a commitment to innovate in their industries and excel at the way they craft their stories. We couldn’t be more excited about collaborating with them in preparation for this historic release.”

With the third go-round of the Avengers franchise, its regular promotional partners are doubling their support when compared with 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Beyond TV, fans will encounter interactive digital initiatives and robust in-store presences at numerous retailers.

Other brands teaming with Infinity War include Ziploc, Go-Gurt, Yoplait, Synchrony Bank, American Airlines and Stand Up to Cancer. In addition Duracell, Unilever, Quaker, Chevron and Samsung will be running promotions for Infinity War in smaller markets.

I think this movie has the potential to crack $250 million opening weekend. 10 years of build up.....people are going to want to see the payoff.

Really surprised Jurassic World isn't getting more buzz considering how big the first one was. Nothing even comes remotely close to Infinity War either.

I think after Infinity War, Solo, and Deadpool 2 more people will start getting excited for it. I’m definitely going to see it in theaters, but I can’t think about it when Infinity War is so close.

I am surprised that many are expecting Ocean’s 8 to be a blockbuster. Social media impressions are high, but expected for this movie.
