If this has English subs I’ll pick this up as it’ll end up around the same price as the Kino anyhow since Kino charges a lot to ship to Canada and it’s in line with Kino prices on amazon Canada after VAT removal. I’m surprised KINO hasn’t announced this yet if the French are releasing it in 3D in June. Thanks for this

This started playing in US theatrical release this weekend. I’ll try to get it to it, but have a feeling it might be a short and limited run, plus it becomes somewhat less of a priority since most of the film is not in 3D.

There is no chance whatsoever that this will have English subs in France.

Kino are the only hope for an English friendly release, and that's just for those with Region A players.

Saw this today in NYC and enjoyed it. There is a disclaimer at the beginning of the film, then the actual title screen shows up before the 3D segment (this is explained by a character in dialogue during the film who talks about dreams versus movies)

Kino's been pretty good with 3-D titles considering their partnership with the 3-D Film Archive, as well as releasing Goodbye to Language in 3-D.

Since they apparently have the rights to this, here's hoping they do it justice and give it a 3-D blu-ray.

Sorry to double post, but there was some good news over in the Kino thread. The Kino Lorber insider confirmed that their Long Day's Journey Into Night blu-ray release will include 3-D:

saw this this afternoon and while it reminded me of a movie directed by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, I thought the intended 3D layering seemed to be on the mild, low medium side, the fact that the sequence happens at night and low lighting doesn't help the dimensionality; but all in all, give it's all done in one shot is rather amazing to witness. I thought the real attention grabber was the 5.1 soundmix that is not only aggressive but does this great faux Dolby Atmos panning and placing sound literally all around you in nooks and crannies of the auditorium. Bring on the bluray!

There's still no release date for the Kino 3D blu-ray ("later in 2019") but it's a huge relief we are getting English friendly 3D version! I'm really looking forward to see this one!

I remember the 2D part had a 7.1 mix while the 3D part they went for the Atoms mix.

Also, Dangmai Films announced they will release the blu-ray in mainland China, it should include the 3D version.

I saw this today. It was interesting. The final hour's continuous take was very impressive. Unfortunately the theater showed the entire film in 2D, so I may have to pick this up to experience the 3D portion.

French 3D Blu Ray got a good review by Fabien Remblier, a French director who's shot native 3D films and shows. He gave the 3D a 5 out of 5. I'm tempted to import it as I understand French. Not sure what KINO is doing with the title at this point. I've asked about it in the KINO insider thread, waiting to see if anyone responds **Update : Looks like October is now the target. Only time will tell **;
