A prequel for kingsman actually sounds pretty good that series had a habit of killing good characters off early. It could follow harry hart or show harry harts first mission/ initiation or it could show the kingsman way before harry and show its founding or what they did during other world domination attempts, genocides or wars.

Isn't the main point of a reboot, to remake a poor or seriously dated film?

What's the point of rebooting/remaking a good film?

I'd be much more interested in a Kick-Ass 3 than any sort of spin-off. I don't care for superhero mantles getting passed around all willy-nilly. For what it's worth, I've always been surprised at how mixed to negative the reception was for Kick-Ass 2, which felt a lot more loose and natural than the first one, albeit less grand in a cinematic sense.

No thanks. Never even bothered with the sequel. First one was fine but it's kinda gained this reputation as some underrated modern classic, and I just never understood that. It's solid but nothing more IMHO.

Rebooting Hit Girl? Chloe Moretz's bank account is crying.

I'd trade her bank account for mine!

I can't get too excited about a reboot to be honest. My letterboxd review of the first film (https://letterboxd.com/jgorton22/film/kick-ass/) explains why I think it works so well. It's a stunning achievement really and I can't imagine anyone creating another film in this series that hits the sweet spot between vulgarity and heart that Kick Ass hits. The only people who'd have a chance are Vaughn and Goldman.

Kick-Ass is one of my favorite films. I'd much rather have them continue the series and give it a fitting conclusion than rebooting it.

And I'd be all for that Hit-Girl spin-off as well.

I honestly thought it was genuinely awesome up until the jarring death of Big Daddy, which was just miserable and horrifying in a way that didn't gel with the gleeful tone the rest of the movie had. Big buzzkill for me.

A reboot would be Chloe Moretz as Hit Ass, because she ain’t a girl anymore

I liked the first movie, and it was an unexpected hit i think, but i do wonder if they can really recapture the magic of the first if it retreads all the same beats.

I'd actually prefer he goes onto putting his talents to more original endeavours but if it turns out good, i never say no to watching good movies.

That's Word of Reel for yeah. It's run by a highly opinionated, smug dbag who says politics don't matter as they cry about the race/gender changing for a remake. But hey the site does have the odd early scoop.

As for a Kick-Ass remake, I'm cool with it. Either remake the original story or go down the new comic storyline. Either works for me. Might just end up feeling like a Deadpool rip-off despite the og film doing that first.
