Thanks for the new trailer. Looks similar to past Dead or Alive games for the most part. The new Jurassic Park dinosaur theme is interesting.

Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja were all about the Dead or Alive 6 action at TGS 2018, and we got a look at some of its latest with a matchup between two popular characters Kasumi and Honoka.

Speaking of jiggle physics, producer Yohei Shimbori had a lot to say about it and how it works in a recent interview, and we also got a closer look at how it is in the TGS 2018 build which you can check in our previous report.

But not that far off. SCVI can at least keep you busy till then. Be cool to have a Beta Test for DOA6 by Christmas like SCVI recently did.

Delayed By A Couple Of Weeks. Possible Demo Coming.

The Dead or Alive 6 release date has been changed. Originally, the game was supposed to be released on February 15, 2019. However, it has been pushed back two weeks. Instead, the game will be released on March 1, 2019. The announcement was made on Twitter, and the official website now offers the update and an explanation as well.

An explanation from Yohei Shimbori, the Director and Producer for Dead or Alive 6, has been posted on official media channels. It notes that the extra two weeks will be spent polishing the game.

Here is Shimbori’s statement in full:

I am truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by the release delay of Dead or Alive 6.

The title’s development is already near complete, however we would like to take more time to further polish its balance, gameplay, and expressivity.

In return for your additional patience, we commit to bringing you the best gaming experience we can.

Dead or Alive 6 will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 1, 2019. Earlier today, another tweet on the official Twitter account hinted that a demo might be on the way.

Online Beta Test Now Available With 5 Playable Characters

At the beginning of this week, the official Dead or Alive 6 Twitter account teased some sort of trial for the fighting game. However, it was very vague and there was no actual date. Now, it is suddenly here. The Dead or Alive 6 Online Beta Test is immediately available to download. You can find it in the North American and European PlayStation Stores.

The Dead or Alive 6 Online Beta Test begins today at 7am PT/9am CT/10am ET/4pm CET, but you can preload it now. It is a 7.7GB download that requires PlayStation Plus It will conclude on January 14, 2019.

The official website goes over exactly what people can expect from the Dead or Alive 6 Online Beta Test. Ayane, Diego, Hayabusa, Hayate, and Kasumi will be playable. The DOA Colosseum will be the only stage available, and you can only play in Online Versus.

Dead or Alive 6 will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 1, 2019. In case you missed it, a new combat and features trailer was also just released.

The Best Way To Describe My Reaction To This Is That I Am Highly Cautiously Optimistic

ead or Alive 6 Director and Producer Yohei Shimbori recently went to Taiwan for an interview, where he talked about the extent of clothing damage, whether Misaki from Venus Vacation might join the game later on, and the inspiration for new characters NiCO and Diego.

Shimbori apologized once again for the delay, saying that while he can’t reveal specifics, the gist is that they needed to improve balance and expressivity.

Regarding clothing damage, Shimbori states that is has been adjusted to not go overboard, for their female audience. He feels this aspect might be better left to the Xtreme series instead.

Regarding how the different versions on the game will differ in terms of presentation, Shimbori stated that there will be official announcements soon, including differences in specs and content.

When asked if there will be any crossover with Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet, Shimbori answered that there are currently no plans, but did not rule out anything in the future. He further joked that Misaki, the new character being added to Xtreme 3: Scarlet, is not a fighter, and might even get knocked out with one punch. That said, he does have some ideas.

Because the Dead or Alive series is popular in the US, it directly inspired the making of new character Diego. Shimbori did research beforehand and incorporated opinions from various age groups to create Diego, who’s themed after a street brawler. While he’s powerful, he’s also a simple character to pick up.

As for NiCO, she was made for the Japanese and Asian audience. Because her concept was influenced by anime and light novels, she feels a bit more “anime” than characters before. Originally, they got together internal staff who liked anime to come up with the concept, and went with a design which exuberated coolness. Compared to Marie Rose and Honoka, who were also designed with anime and manga inspirations, Marie Rose is small and cute, Honoka is all about her childish face and boobs, and NiCO’s charm lies in her cool but “chuuni” atmosphere.

The reason why Sumire Uesaka was chosen as NiCO’s voice actress is because in the original concepts, NiCO was from Russia, and so they chose a voice actress who was familiar with the language. However, halfway through they changed NiCO to being from Finland, so sadly her language skills didn’t end up being put to use.

Finally, who is the protagonist of Dead or Alive 6? Shimbori feels every character is a main character, and it all depends on who the player chooses. That said, some characters have a larger role in the story, such as Honoka and her mysterious power, which is being targeted by NiCO. If he had to pick one, as the core of the series revolves around the Mugen Tenshin clan, he would choose Kasumi.
