HDR10 might have not have dynamic metadata, but it just works for me without issue.
This is good to know, being that I purchased a Samsung television without Dolby Vision support (HDR10 only).

FYI they fixed the DV issue with all LG OLED with DV from 2016 thru 2018 models. Proclaiming your better off with a Samsung is just a excuse you know.
I wasn't proclaiming ANYTHING -- certainly not that anyone is "better off" with a Samsung...

God...this forum sometimes...

I was merely stating that I felt more comfortable knowing my display didn't come with DV based on his particular comment; I was already kicking myself for not buying a display with DV, and this made me feel a little better about that (though, if they fixed the issues with updates, all the better for those with DV capable displays).

I in no way, shape or form was trying to say someone should buy a Samsung because of this.

As Ross TG said once, "HDR 10 just works," and he has an LG OLED. I don't think he or I are attacking DV, more just saying that HDR 10 delivers what's on the disc and it's all up to your TV to display it properly. If you have a good TV, it results in a good experience. DV is more complicated, more gears in the works...

I wasn't quoting you; the comment I quoted was from another member who's response never showed up in the thread for some reason.

After I've changed Dolby Vision Processing from Player-led to TV-led, the black bars re now solid black

Did you have the DV processing on Auto or had you actually set it to player-led? There's no reason to do that with anything other than a Sony TV.

I think it was on Auto, as I never touched it.

I had the same issue (grey bars with DV, HDR10 had black bars), but the OPPO 203 in combination with a Vizio 2018 P-series
Also here changing Dolby-Vision from 'Auto' to 'TV led' resulted in the bars going black again; saying 'again' because they were black before up until a firmware update by Vizio, go figure ...

Just to add to the above: apparently the OPPOs will output player-led if set to Auto so if anyone's using anything other than a Sony TV then set that Dobly to TV-led, stat!
