as can see from my location, I'm not in Germany, so, I'm referring to the USA.

it's not in the section of UHD shows/Prime Original shows. apparently, other countries do other things.

So, with the show, is it recommended to watch the movie first? or does it not matter?

on the one hand, it doesn't matter, but on the other, you will get to see the original source material and see where the tv show version is coming from and how it plans on extending/continuing Hanna's "adventures".

it wouldn't hurt, but, it could stand on it's own.

and no, I don't want to hear shit about the budget, this is a big show for Prime, it premiered Super Bowl Night with episode one, so, it's no tiny show!

that said, the show is still amazing, I am up to the 3rd episode and I will watch that and probably episode 4 over the weekend.

so, one thing first, yesterday, the day before it's official release, S1 was dropped on Prime and it was not in UHD, only SD. as I mentioned, no listing in the UHD series section of Prime.

tonight, I just turned on Prime and what do you know, the UHD version is now available. I guess they were holding that version until the official release date.

so, I'm gonna watch re-watch the ep's 1&2 because I didn't see either of them in UHD/HDR.

makes me wonder when they dropped it yesterday, why not just drop the UHD as well and even still, when they dropped ep 1 after the Super Bowl, why not drop it in UHD as well?

so, thanks to Prime for giving Hanna a UHD/HDR release giving it some love, I'm glad I was mistaken/wrong, thinking they didn't give it some love like they did Jack Ryan. (they still didn't give it DV/ATMOS, I'm being petty, I know, but, I did get my UHD/HDR)

oh well, I'm watching Hanna in UHD, so, thanks to the words of my Germany counterpart uptop!

It's in 4K UHD isn't it?

I had it in HDR on Thursday.

Edit: It may have been after midnight, so technically Friday morning. Technicalities.

I added Hanna to my watchlist in UHD before it was even released, when it said coming soon. It's been there since the Supebowl, was there Thursday when all 8 episodes dropped, and is still there now.

I don't think you're crazy. Amazon just has an absolutely lousy search as it pertains to 4K UHD. I bet it was there the entire time, you just couldn't find it. I don't know why most of their 4K UHD content is practically hidden. You have to almost stumble upon it.

Not just UHD content is hidden. The Search in general sucks totally, espacially outside of the USA with all the different language Versions. In Germany we had 4 different Versions of Legend of Tomorrow Season 3, but the one in Prime included you could only find like on Page 4 of your search

back to topic:
I have Finished Episode 3, it is just okay. Episode 2 was a bit boring because it was still very close to the movie. But the Action in the end of the Episode was awesome. After that they finally go different paths so Episode 3 got way more interessting but also slow in Storytelling. 5 Episodes to go.

I was happy to see it was only 8 episodes, but as I'm watching it still feels a little too drawn out. Maybe 4 or 6 would have been better.

My problem with Hanna (the series) is that Hanna (the character as a bratty angst-ridden teenager) is the least interesting and most annoying part of it. The father's and the FBI agent's head-to-head battle is the interesting arc of the story IMO. So don't think I'd bother with Season 2 were they to continue... unless it jumps to a more mature Hanna character.

I liked the movie, but haven't watched it in years. I will binge this when I get some time... 8 episodes is an easy watch.

I too enjoyed the movie, with my main complaint being I wish it had been a mini-series as there was plenty of room to flesh out the story and characters - something I think the series did well. If you enjoyed the premise of the movie, but felt it just wasn't enough, the series should fit the bill nicely.

jay166 - Can you do me a favour as you watch it? Check how it gives you subtitles.

I did have one technical issue. After episode 4, I lost the subtitles. This is a multi-lingual film - primarily English with some Swedish - with dabs of German and a few other European languages thrown in.

Up until that point, I got English sub's for every non-English language, then from episode 5 onward, I got nothing. My only English-friendly subtitle option from that point on was English SDH, which is Subtitles for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired. This is an issue because not only does it give me English subtitles even when they're speaking English, it only gives me Eng. subs for the Swedish language - all others it simply says (Speaking German), without giving me translated text. Not to mention being SDH subs it also includes text for sounds (Dog Barking) etc.

Once I finished it, I went back to check the earlier episodes, and the standard English subs had disappeared from them as well. I'm watching it on AppleTV, and I've gone through the settings in both AppleTV and Amazon Prime, and everything is selected as it should be.

I'm not sure if the problem is related to AppleTV, Amazon Prime - or it may even be an issued outside the US (I'm also in Australia).

Anybody else have English subtitle issues with this series?

There was definitely a lull in the middle episodes but it picked right back up and I just finished episode 7 and can’t sleep now unless I finish.

Look forward to season 2.
