Wonder when we Will see some preorders for this one

While this film isn't something I'd normally see, I do like the fantasy aspect to it, with the potential for adventure, but it's the high medium to strong 3D from the trailer that has me very interested in seeing it. If the 3D in the whole movie looks that great, it'll be another success for 3D cinema, rewarding viewers with stronger 3D instead of punishing them with mild 3D to the point they question why they bought a 3D ticket. Maleficent 2's 3D looks promising along the lines of a Marvel conversion.

I checked the AMC app today for showings this weekend, and it seems your options are IMAX or 3D. No IMAX 3D showings. Oh well. Obviously 3D wins out over IMAX! (Especially since the trailer looks like it should have plenty of depth and popouts... well, in 2D, anyway. I guess they could still do a shallow conversion, but hopefully not because just from the trailer it was clearly shot with 3D in mind.)

Okay, thanks for the info. This weekend then for the premiere 3D show. I usually see it opening weekend, or else it's out of 3D by the next week for smaller 3D films.

Not sure how to feel about this news. Annoyingly last minute. And I'm pretty sure they'll just put 2.39:1 on the 4K, 3D and standard blu-rays...
I still haven't seen my 3D copy of the first film, will need to watch that tonight before deciding if it's worth the trip to the IMAX far away (for IMAX 3D, offered here).

IMAX 3D is the best way to see any 3D film. But IMAX isn't supporting 3D in the US leaving us to the darkness of Real D. Anyone know of a decent Real D theater in the Denver area. My experience has been, charitably, not so good.

I had tix for this in Dolby Cinema but with more image for the IMAX presentation - guess I'll be changing to seeing this in IMAX now.

Disney haven’t included imax scenes in any of their home releases outside of the MCU so I can’t see why they’d start now....just glad to see the 3D disc!

I saw the first 10 min last night, the open sequence has nice 3D I notice some pop out of the screen finally like a rope that come across the upper right side of the screen and The red and gold shinny plant or fruit whatever that was that they find in the woods. That impressed me a lot and I was up in the projection booth behind the glass!

Yes - blind buy in 3D for me. Very excited they are releasing this in 3D since I wasnt sure at first.

Pre-Ordered German release! Its a long way off and Ill check to see if a UK release happens but if not then this will do!
