8. Red Hot Chili Peppers- Stadium Arcadium
9. Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here
10. John Lennon- John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band
11. The Beatles- Magical Mystery Tour
12. Bob Dylan- Highway 61 Revisited

I could never create a top ten or twenty list of my favourite albums. It's impossible. These are ten albums I can turn to any time and enjoy them. My list already has two changes from when I originally wrote it out five minutes ago. Here they are in no particular order along with a bit about why I like them.

1. Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Beethoven's Last Night. An amazing story told by way of amazing music. Fate comes to Beethoven to tell him he will die tonight. He spends the night looking back at his life. A very brief description.

2. Twisted Sister - You Can't Stop Rock N Roll While everyone else was singing about partying and getting laid, Dee Snider had something to say. I Am (I'm Me) changed my life forever. I promised myself if I ever met him, I'd thank him for those words. A promise I've fulfilled.

3. Kiss - Destroyer A real departure for them at the time. That's why I like it. Beth was a massive hit but there's a whole lot more to this album than that.

4. Donna Lewis - Now In A Minute Just a girl and her synthesizer and it's captivating. She sings so quietly at times she's almost whispering. Everybody can relate to the song "Silent World." Check it out.

5. Cyndi Lauper - Hat Full Of Stars Not one of her best known albums but it's my favourite. A lot of music and a lot of variety. Her voice is one of the best and she can sing pretty much any style. She proves it here.

6. Amanda Marshall - Everybody's Got A Story Powerful singer-songwriter from Canada. Songs about love, friendships breaking up over a man, racism approached in a very different way, a drunken night out etc. Great stories.

7. Guns 'N Roses - Appetite For Destruction. Right in the middle of the Glam era came this album that rocked the world and achieved a legendary status that it definitely deserves.

8. Alice Cooper - From The Inside Alice entered a psychiatric hospital to get sober. This album, co-written by Bernie Taupen, was the result. Alice says each song is about a different person he met "on the inside." There is not another album like it out there.

9. Metallica - Metallica I'm on the "love it" side of this debate. The songs are better written and the production is top notch. There's a reason it still sells today.

10. Bruce Springsteen - Born In The USA From the title track to My Hometown this album is amazing. That's really all I need to say.

This is in no particular order and I really tried to limit it to one album per artist. However this is a pretty accurate list of what I would consider my top 10 favorite albums.

Thanks. Yeah honestly, there are several others I could easily substitute. I could easily do an 11-20, which would probably easier for me than 1-10.

I've never really put much time and thought into my top 10 albums. Mostly due to the fact that my music tastes have always shifted around, but settled mostly in punk. So I guess this is a rough list of some albums I enjoy from different genres.

How great is Pet Sounds?!? When I first listened to it I was in literal shock at how good it was. When it was over I just sat there for 10 minutes in amazement.

A truly ahead of it's time album! Amazing that it was released to middling reviews at the time. The public just wasn't ready for that record! They were expecting Little Deuce Coup part 2.

Exactly before I listened to it all I knew by The Beach Boys was Surfin USA and I Get Around. You know stuff like that.

That is Brian Wilson’s album. It’s just a shame that worthless member by the name of Mike Love just wanted to stick with the surf formula and didn’t want to experiment like Brian did. Then the Beatles just passed them up and the rest was history. It’s a shame Smile never got released in 67. I truly believe if Brian Wilson got his way The Beach Boys would be a top 3 band of all time instead of a top 15 band. Unfortunate.

Smile is inferior to Pet Sounds, but oh my god, Brian Wilson's vocals on "Surfs Up" makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up!

Oh I agree but it would have been another legendary album in their discography. Now they literally only have one legendary album and a couple of good albums and ALOT of duds unfortunately.

With you being such a huge Dylan fan I would have expected to see a few Band albums in there.

I love the Basement Tapes and the first two The Band albums. If I expanded my list to 50 it would include those three albums and a whole lotta Grateful Dead.
