Yuppers. People have legit gripes with the films, but starting with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe ain't one of them.

Don't think we'll ever see the extended cut of volume one on blu. The special effects for the added scenes are of a lower quality than the effects in the rest of the film. (Apparently the trims to the film were made before the effects were finished.) And there's NO WAY Disney will ever go back and redo the effects to make it suitable for HD presentation.... Pity, because I greatly prefer the longer cut of the film, too.

Seems odd to have these three films re-made so (relatively) soon after their theatrical versions were released. But I admit I am curious to see how Netflix will revive the series. The television versions won't have the budget of the theatrical films, but if the scripts are good they could turn out to be quite acceptable.

This film was released at the peak of the DVD era, back when studios like Disney would actually spend money to create extended cuts with new CGI just for collectors edition DVD sets. Seems like a different world now.

This film is one of the best non-LOTR fantasy films of the 2000s and deserves better. This could have been a huge franchise if Prince Caspian wasn’t such a slog and Dawn Treader wasn’t a cheap, half-assed affair.

Caspian was really great but the trouble was that it was too dark and violent for parents taste. That's why Dawn Treader was so toothless.

Caspian should have been a Christmas release like its predecessor but Disney really wanted to push things in a summer franchise direction with these films and of course we all saw how that worked out.

Glad to have the three that we do as I enjoy each one for what they are, but it's truly a shame we never got The Magicians Nephew with Tilda Swinton as Jadis unleashed in Victorian era London.

I worry how motivated will Disney be to release Christian based fantasy movies in 4k? It would be great to get the Narnia movies on uhd disc but I'm not holding my breath. So glad they can't touch the Lord of the Rings franchise.

I was thinking about finally picking this up on blu-ray, but it appears the director's cut that was released on DVD was never released on blu-ray. Is that correct?

What a shame. This was a great movie, and probably the best children's fantasy film of the 2000's outside of Harry Potter (certainly much better than Golden Compass, Percy Jackson, Eregon, etc.).

This was also a big hit for Disney, so I'm not sure why they would ignore it. I didn't even see it on the list of movies going to Disney+. Then again, I don't think Disney has really ever done special edition re-releases for any of their movies on bluray. There are the diamond/platinum/signature editions for a dozen or so animated films, and Force Awakens got a deluxe 3D version after the initial release, but those are the only ones I can think of.

The Director's cut is only available on DVD.

Most of the added footage appears in the climactic battle. Someone said, somewhere in this forum, that the added footage was only available in standard def.

When I watched the battle awhile ago, I didn't notice any varying quality, but I wasn't looking for it either.

Just watched this wonderful film and it def is in need of a 4k remaster. The Bluray is showing its age. Love the film though and really wanted The Magicians Nephew and The Silver Chain done in this grand Disney style!

Default Wrong Place!

This thread is under the 1979 animated movie and it shouldn't be.
