If Arrow can provide the deleted Maggie Cheung scenes, I'll double-dip.

If they rescanned the OCN at 4K, which they probably won't, it would be one sweet UHD release. But instead they'll just go to the 2K DI and... Well, just see the Shaun of the Dead 4K / Hot Fuzz 4K / The World's End 4K releases for an indication on how it will look.

Not for me. And I f***ing love this movie.

It just feels like Arrow are saying - "instead of increased resolution and an HDR pass, howzabout some snazzy newly commissioned artwork and a rigid slipcase, huh!?"

Have to agree with this. I also love IG and am a huge sucker for packaging but I have zero interest in another Blu-ray edition. I grabbed Crimson Peak because I couldn't resist that box set but the madness has to stop somewhere. Now, I'd kill for an Arrow edition of Death Proof/Planet Terror

Pointless. The current Blu is available for next to nothing and anyone who really wants an upgrade should be looking at the upcoming 4k release.

Possibly the slightly longer German cut, with the extended forehead guessing game.

Eh, even if it is, I’ll stick with the copy I paid two bucks at Goodwill. That is, if the upcoming UHD isn’t shite.

Will need UHD (unlikely) or some really substantial new extras for me to buy. The original BD still looks great.

I'm in the 4K club. Unless maybe this is stacked beyond belief with interesting extras. I'd still probably just go for the 4K because I rarely watch extras but given the director and cast it might be interesting to see what they come up with.

I'm also in the 4K club. UHD or bust for me on this.

Oh I'd be all over that, I haven't bothered upgrading from the 6-disc Japanese DVD set.

People who are in the 4K club should bugger off to the 4K forum and stop clogging up Blu-ray threads with "Wah, wah, no 4K no sale" whining.

Welcome to the forums! Thanks for joining. But if you plan on sticking around longer than 24 hours, I suggest dialing down the douchebaggery and rudeness. Start with editing out that "bugger off" from your comment

Situation is slightly different this time though given IB already has an upcoming UHD release. So comments are more in line with noting Arrow's irrelevance.

Yeah...unless these is stacked with fluff and extras...I'll wait for the UHD.

I try not to comment anymore about it but it’s hard to do so the way some act.

You know Universal is releasing the UHD so I don’t get complaining about Arrow.

Thinking they’re purposely not “increasing the resolution and doing an HDR pass.” That’s just a strange comment. We know the workings of the independent labels in regards to bluray vs uhd releases.

So you’re purposely trolling bluray owners then?

There is no irrelevance from Arrow. Arrow is doing what Arrow does. Nice packaging, filled with extras, and maybe better PQ.

Movies with digital intermediates do not typically have conformed OCNs. Going back to the OCN would require completely reconstructing the film. There are tools to help with that, like iConform, but it's far more involved than I'm getting the impression you think it is. There's a reason why this is so rarely done.

Irrelevance, like Robocop. It makes sense from a sales perspective but i doesn't really promise anything substantial.
