Yeah, I'm liking this feud. I regret not getting tickets to the Rumble now.

Yeah, they were worried about three things:

1. The matches looking faker than ever.

2. The divas showing all their imperfections.

3. The older stars showing all their wrinkles. Apparently they are particularly worried about guys like Shawn Michaels, who still play youngish types in their characters but aren't that young anymore. They previously got caught photoshopping his receding hairline on their website.

While the WWE isn't as popular as it used to be, this is pretty huge.

Cool, now we can see fake wrestling even clearer than before. I was a fan for so many years. And it was ruined with my first live event. Ringside seats to a Sunday show quite a few years back. I never could muster up the energy to watch it again.

Wrestling has always been cyclical. Hopefully TNA can manage to get their act in gear (losing hope on that) to give Vince the competition he needs to get his creative juices flowing again

I look forward to checking out the Royal Rumble Blu though It's my favorite PPV

I think a lot of people have trouble treating it like the circus rather than a basketball game

Thank you. My interest was waning even before I went to a live show, but it just killed it completely. The dramatic camera angles may fool pie-eyed tweens, but honestly, once you see these guys lightly tossing eachother around and flailing their arms as they punch, you get a little pissed off that you bought into it for so long. I remember my friend was upset after his first live show when he realized it was a rehearsal for the next weeks Raw or something.

But we've made peace with wrestling years ago, I can't believe anyone still watches it.

I'm quite frankly surprised that anybody ever "buys into it", especially in this day and age when the WWE, the only big company, has publicly admitted for decades that it's pure entertainment and there is no competition involved.

I figured people watching it are simply watching it for the entertainment value, not because they think it is a real sport, which is why I didn't understand why a live show would ruin it for anyone.

I guess I can understand being disappointed in the entertainment value of a house show though, since from what I hear they tone it way down and work the matches in a slower-paced style for safety reasons. If you went expecting the action that you see on TV, you'd probably be let down.

Most importantly, there is NOTHING more J6P then WWE and the ONLY place they will be able to get it is on Blu-Ray

I haven't watched WWE since 2005 (watched from 1998-2005... the days of The Rock and Stone Cold Steve austin) but I know that they are KINGS at marketing... both for their own brands and sponsors.
As soon as the WWE starts putting out Blu-Ray's, you will see more Blu-Ray adds during WWE shows than ANYWHERE else (probably 4 in the span of a 2 hour show).

The WWE should start new "possies": a Blu possie (Good guys) and a Red DUD possie (Heals) and have them go at each other with the Dud's always finding a way to lose I know i'd tune in to watch that

P.S. Since they are going HD, I will probably have to start giving WWE another look (forward through with PVR... unless I see a Blu-Ray add )

Somebody needs to get the UFC to realize that releasing only on HD DVD doesn't make much sense after the Warner announcement (if it did before).

As far as the WWE is concerned, I would probably check at least one of these discs out, but my favorite WWE fight of all time was when they got their butts kicked by a bunch of panda lovers and had to change their name from WWF to WWE (with the World Wildlife Foundation causing them to change it).

I remember when the WWF would be shown in place of Saturday Night Live on NBC a while ago. I thought the WWF had some of the best writing around at the time. I noticed that they also did a good job of switching cameras many times when a hit would occur, helping to mask much of the fakiness. It will be interesting to see how obvious some of this stuff is on Blu-ray, although I know they do some real damage too.
