well, that's promising then! Let's hope more are coming from that botched Universal set....

Well they say in their announcement that "this release will be sourced from a brand new master" so with that and the Facebook post, I think we're good!

Great! I have this on the Universal Hammer set, but will gladly double-dip for the poster and hopefully more accurate OAR.

I detest re-buying movies as singles that I already have in multi-packs. Plus, Shout CE prices. Pass.

Yes, it has newly filmed scenes (to include the "monster", well his feet) and violence/gore is trimmed. Some shots of Caron's "assets" are shortened as well.

I'm in the same boat as you, although this was one of my favorite films from the Universal 8-Pack, so for me it depends on the special features and future sale prices. But this definitely will not be a Day-1 purchase for my collection.

It is rather confusing to have the website claim 2.00:1, but on Facebook they say 1.85:1. I myself would love to see it released with 1.85: and also include the 1.66:1.

I dunno, I'm not the biggest Hammer fan, so it suits me just as well that I can pick the individual films I want. Curse of the Werewolf rates highly for me. This one, Brides of Dracula, Curse of Frankenstein, The Mummy, Horror of Dracula and I'm good. Oh and Quatermass Experiment probably too.

I enjoyed this movie. I own this already in the Hammer Boxset but I am open for a individual release and with slip cover’s I’m already sold!! I have a weakness for slip cover releases!!

For anyone who hasn't visited the Shout/Scream website lately, they have updated the AR information to 1.85:1.

Let's hope Shout / Scream! will rescue Brides of Dracula from Universal next
and release it in a correct aspect ratio.

Yes let's hope so. There's some speculation within these threads that Scream Factory might very well do this!

It's the opposite for me. I dislike having multi-movie sets when the movies are not part of the same series, so I love the opportunity to re-buy movies from them as standalones.

I just bought the 8-film Universal Hammer set last year, but if Scream also releases The Evil of Frankenstein and Night Creatures from that set in addition to The Curse of the Werewolf, then I'll gladly re-buy them and then sell off the multi-film set.

that's my preference as well. I like having the stand alone releases... and I have no problem keeping the boxed sets as an "extra copy"......

For me, only Curse of the werewolf, Brides of Dracula, Kiss of the vampires, Night creatures and to a lesser degree Evil of Frankenstein (just because it's part of a series, even if it's awful) are worth it.
But honestly, I think I will only double dip with Curse and Brides (they are top 5 Hammer for me, along with Horror of Dracula, The Mummy and Hound of Baskerville).
I like that Shout is releasing these. Curse and Brides deserves the deluxe treatment. As long as we still get down the line Curse of Frankenstein and Frankenstein and the monster from Hell.

Pre-ordered to insure the poster, along with Escape From L.A.. Hope the extras are worth it.
