Actually just spun the BD a week or two ago and it holds up well, but a UHD would be even better. And for those of you with the Best Buy exclusive, hold onto that bonus disc since I doubt it'll get carried over.

I watched it in June. You’re right, the PQ is solid.

Great news!. The Blu-ray has an excellent image, but surely on UHD it will be even better.

Great news, I have a feeling a U.S. 4K release will come eventually. As for the Miramax QT films on 4K, never say never, but I doubt it.

Doesn't this pretty much depend on Miramax's new owners? Whatever is being said now basically has no relevance.

I mean if Lionsgate buys Miramax, you can pretty much count on all their QT movies coming to UHD. Sony,and even Paramount I'd think would have intentions of UHD's as well.

According to this, potential suitors are: Lionsgate, MGM (though aren't they cash strapped?), Paramount (Viacom), Sony

I don't think any of those would rule out UHD releases. Maybe if some hedge fund or private equity buys them then you worry a bit more due to them not having established UHD distribution.

Great to hear - one of my very fave of QT.

Hopefully his other movies are not too far behind as those BDs are looking a bit ragged to me.

The only Tarantino films I want to own in UHD are the Kill Bills and Pulp Fiction. Otherwise, glad they’re coming at least.

Ditto. Gonna hold off on the rewatch now, and given that Universal came up with that tat-filled US re-release of the BD I was shocked that they didn't have a UHD to go with it. Not shocked any longer.

Isn't the release of this in the US up to Lantern Entertainment?
Universal was only the international distributor.

Universal owns home video rights in the U.S., so I can easily see this coming stateside. The other movies, not so much. (Reservoir Dogs could be possible since it's technically under Lionsgate's banner and not Miramax, but I still doubt it).

Wikipidia has it that Lantern Entertainment have Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight

Maybe they agreed to a new distribution deal with Universal on this film - or the old one still applies for UHD's even with the film changing hands? I guess we'll see if/when the other films get announced, we'll see what labels they went to (or if this Inglorious Basterds UHD gets a U.S. release date).

Either way, even if there is no US release I'll happily import from somewhere since no worries about region coding on UHD's. But I'd be surprised if it came to that.

Came close to doing the same thing last weekend but held off. One of my favorite QT movies and now Inglorious 4K
