I haven't watched in 3 years (going to check it out this week because of HD) but I would imagine that the amount of commercial bombardment for PS3/Blu-Ray would double if they start putting out their shows and PPV events on Blu-Ray.

sorry if it offends anyone, but screw that fake garbage. Only about 5 - 10 percent of them have any real fighting experience, maybe not that many. I am 40 years old and would laugh in their faces. Just a bunch of steroid users to make themselves look good on TV. I have been fighting for real since I was 6 years old in martial arts and in the Marines in the days when I was younger. Sorry just had to vent against WWE.

I watch wrestling every week because I find it entertaining. Well, sometimes. I used to, and now it's probably more out of habit, truth be told. But, anyway, I can appreciate it as compelling entertainment when it is at its best. But I don't understand the attitude of "you have to respect these guys because they really get hurt". Really? Do people really have respect them for that even if they don't find it entertaining? I don't see how that follows. Take any activity you don't respect, and now imagine that you're told that people get hurt doing it. Do you respect it now? I doubt it. Last edited by TheRealBob; 01-20-2008 at 01:41 AM. |

it will probably go on blu.
and to answer the comment about how they take the diving and slamming and all that on the ring is that if you havent noticed that the ring is almost as bouncy as a trampoling you are blind. difference of movies and wwe is that movies make are action, entertaining. but wwe is a soap opera. it is all a show and no action unless you go to TNA which has more of those TCL crap. |

[ OK, for some reason Shin-Ra edited my message here to remove DetroitSportsFan's link to the video of Sid Vicious snapping his lower leg in half in a WCW wrestling match, so I thought I'd at least describe what it was so the rest of my message makes sense. ]
Heh. I told a friend about that incident with Sid after it happened, and he started making fun of me for thinking something in wrestling was real. For some reason, many people can't separate "people enjoy watching wrestling" from "people think wrestling is real", which are two entirely different concepts. I tried to explain to him that, yes, I understood wrestling wasn't real sport, but this was a horrific injury, and I explained what had happened to him. He continued making fun of me, saying obviously they had rigged up some props to simulate a broken leg and I was stupid for thinking it was real. So I sent him the video of it, and he writes back to me something like, "omg I think I'm going to be sick." [ OK, I'm told the video was removed because it wasn't made clear what the video was, and so people might see something they don't want to see. So...WARNING...this video shows a professional wrestling named Sid Vicious jumping off the ropes, landing on one foot while kicking another wrestling with his other foot, but the leg he lands on breaks in a rather brutal fashion. So click at your own risk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKEENCpRdIY ] Last edited by TheRealBob; 01-20-2008 at 02:09 AM. |

ok, back on topic here. I think they will end up going Blu-Ray. WWE usually puts a lot of extras on their DVD releases if there's enough space to. With extra long PPV events, they recently haven't been able to add as many, and only do multi-disc releases with certain events or specials. So I think the bigger space of a Blu-Ray disc is going to be more appealing to them.
