I hope the can get a hold of the original mono track. All previous releases stereo / 5.1 remixes only.

As per the Studio Canal BD, there are a couple of lines of dialogue in French that won't be subtitled in English.

It's the scene where Atwood meets Joubert in the park. From the screenplay (obviously, where it says 'in French' French was spoken and originally subtitled):
JOUBERT is suddenly aware of a YOUNG MAN & WOMAN who have materialized -- quite close -- out of the river mists; he instantly switches to French: JOUBERT (in French) He was someone to Condor. Find out his name ... and where he lived. Have it for me when I telephone. ATWOOD (in French) Yes. All right. (back to English) What about Wicks? |

That sounds right.
I knew there was some, but couldn’t remember where. No worries, that wouldn’t put me off buying. Many thanks. |

Wow! Hopefully Arrow picks this up for the USA. It would make nice companion to their Day of the Jackal release.
Imagine this and other 70’s classics hitting UHD...Network, President’s Men there’s so many that could be gorgeous on the format and improve over prior releases. Pollack films are almost always ridiculously underrated and Condor is no exception. It’s probably second for me behind The Yakuza which has the stunning WAC Blu. The mono is indeed important usually there’s just a stereo remix. Even my letterbox Laserdisc copy seems like it’s a stereo track when the jacket says mono! |
