That's a bitter pill to swallow but there's only 1,000 copies. It's going to be worth more than you would be paying pretty quickly.

Yeah, that sucks, but this was probably the only way this movie would ever have made it to Blu-ray. I recall many years ago (after the SF Corman Classics DVD was released in 2011) someone had asked Shout whether it would ever come to Blu and the answer then was "doubtful". Apparently the DVD just didn't sell that well, even as a triple feature. So, I'm just grateful to have it at all.

I look at this the same way. Sometimes, you wanna play, you gotta pay! When you think of all of the Hammer and Universal titles they have released, and now these Corman titles, they must have spent an absolute ton of money, I guess they do want to turn a profit, wouldn't you ? I don't like these prices any more than any of you, but, as I said, you wanna play, you gotta pay. So, I paid, and will continue to do so !

Shout/Scream gave me this and The Beast of Hollow Mountain . Any chance for The Killer Shrews?
I’ll take THE KILLER SHREWS on Blu, yes I will, and ATTACK OF THE GIANT LEECHES and TEENAGERS FROM OUTER SPACE too, thank you very much!

FYI: As in July, there is also a second limited edition title for August 25th, Deathsport (1978):

Is this going to be available to order through other outlets i.e. WOWHD for those of us in the UK who can't order direct from Shout?

Yeah but I don't want the movie because it might be worth more money one day and could care less it's limited (that's such a weird reason to buy something, except if you're planning to sell it).
Anyway, it's Shout!'s loss, i'll just put my money on something else.

The current microbiology situation is really messing with us up here. Some titles just aren't available. Some cost a fortune to import.

And I can say that my international orders just aren't being delivered. One package ordered in April still isn't here.

I realize that the world has bigger problems but this is a terrible time to be a Canadian BD collector.

I would love this disc but I've got enough expensive packages stuck in the mail and it's making me nervous.

I'm with you. I'm trying to figure out how to get this without paying $12.99 USD in shipping for 1 movie to Canada. Maybe someone in Germany will release it as it would probably be cheaper to import

I don't buy stuff just to sell it for a profit. Everyone's situation is different but if you really want it there's a price to pay. Might as well have some incentive to justify a hefty purchase in case you go that route.

One of my most hoped for Corman titles, without a doubt.

Ordered it in a heartbeat, together with "Deathsport" which it seems they are also limiting to the Shout site only, for purchase.

I may hesitate on some titles when importing to Canada but assuredly NOT vintage '50s Sci-Fi, my greatest love, next to Universal & Hammer dark fantasy.

My sweet spot for this blu-ray release in terms of pricing would be $12.99.

As much as I'd like to get a copy of this movie on blu-ray, I'm not paying $27 for it.

Never seen this, but that cover sure has me questioning if I should buy this. Extra large crabs killing people? Sounds like interesting cinema to me.

It’s certainly offbeat and a lot deeper and more sophisticated then the silly, exploitive title would lead you to believe. The premise is a bit convoluted and you have to buy into the logic of intelligent giant mutated crabs eating humans and absorbing their personas or the movie just doesn’t work even as “so bad it’s entertaining” but if you can immerse yourself in typical 50’s sci-fi, there’s several really creepy scenes and few startling plot twists. The major downside is the full size crab prop(s) are as laughably goofy as you’d expect from a 50’s Roger Corman b/w sci-fi flick.

Thanks, Kat. I knew that, but the post I quoted didn’t indicate they bought more than one title, so I thought maybe there was a promo code for free shipping or something.

Same here. I have been waiting for someone to release a BD of this, so I pre-ordered as soon as I saw the news.

It's far from one of Corman's bests, but the combination of 1950s sci-fi and giant crab monsters are good enough for me.

As this is a store exclusive, I even have to pay extra to go through a re-shipper to get it. I am just happy SF offers free shipping when you pre-order both limited editions. At least I will only have to pay for postage from my re-shipper in CA to Denmark.

By the way, love you avatar!
