I’ll be waiting even longer now for Kino to lose the rights to this film so that another label can do it proper justice. In the meanwhile, I’ll continue resorting to fan restorations.

Agreed, also Idgaf about the extended cut. I’d rather have the theatrical cut on uhd

I am happy at least to get the bonus features in proper frame-rate. I do wish the gamma was improved on for the US Theatrical Cut. Not sure if that was an authoring error or a part of the color correction they did in 2017.
I'll wait for a review but I do that on almost all the third-party titles I purchase. |

No HDR is less of a big deal to me than only the extended being on 4k. Like... Why?? Would anyone actually prefer that to the theatrical??

Now, I am not overly familiar with what the grain structure could/should look like on a Techniscope negative, so someone with more knowledge can weigh in, hopefully. But looking at something like the screen caps on Blade Runner and The Matrix, you can definitely see much, much better film grain on the UHD caps, HDR notwithstanding. Again, I realize those are not shot in the same format, but I use them because the differences are both apparent and immediate. |
