Don't get me wrong, I used to be a fan of the show too when it first began. Hell I still have my X-Files coffee mug I got during the second season...but the show was just never the same for me once the alien conspiracy got way too convoluted and Mulder and Scully ended up off the show for like, what, a season and a half. Having Doggett and the other agent on just wasn't the same feel.

But c'mon! Can't you see the tv spots and magazine ads with that big blue police box with a big blue BD logo on the side with the caption "The Doctor Is In...High-Definition" at the bottom? That would be slick.

P.S. And really, what's Mulder gonna tell Scully when a silly Brit stops one of those hybrid super-soldiers from the last season with a sonic screwdriver?

I agree the last couple of seasons were...well...weird, but all in all it was a great show. And well with the new movie coming up I am going to need to 'refresh' my memory.

But I think my top show to get on Blu would be House. I love it and it would be killer to have the seasons. For a show owned by FOX and to be distributed by Universal is kind of ironic. It's fox but only on DUD...weird hey?

Pred..

Yeah, I might be interested in the XFiles. The standard DVD transfer was OK but not great.

And I'm one of those people that thoroughly enjoyed the last two seasons. Robert Patrick was awesome in it. Duchovny was the biggest letdown in S8 and S9 - his heart was not in it, and it showed badly. In the episodes he was in he dragged it down.

Yeah, though I can't say as I blame him for it. If memory serves, Chris Carter originally only intended for the series to run over a seven season arc and conclude, but at the request (read: strong-arming) of Fox Studios after the end of the fourth season instead of giving the green light on the "final two seasons" (production was beginning on the fifth season by then, the then last season under contract) Fox ordered four more seasons, not two. This had something to do with the movie though I don't remember what exactly, and I don't mean story-wise, I mean business/money-wise. Carter wasn't too happy with that as his whole vision had just gotten blown and Duchovny and Anderson really weren't too thrilled about being locked into the show for that long of a time. And we all know what happens when writers/creators of series aren't able to tell their story over the right pacing time they intended or have nothing else they wanted to cover (anyone see that last season of Charmed or following what's going on with the upcoming season of Lost?) I mean one of my favorite sci-fi series of like all time, Babylon 5, was only meant to run five seasons and cover five major story-arcs and Straczynski did a wonderful job with that (some of the movies I could have done without...and don't get me started on Crusade). Where was I? Oh yeah, like I said if I'm remembering this all correctly (which I might not be entirely, I have gotten old in my old age) those last three and a half seasons pulled a full 180/way-out-of-left-field sort of thing largely because a lot of the principles involved really didn't want to do it but the studio insisted.

Maybe some of you more devout X-Philes can corroborate or refute any of this better than I?

I used to buy television series on SD, but after watching
them in HiDef when they broadcast I'm not going to
settle for archiving them in SD.

My most wanted is MI-5, but not likely it will ever
be released in HiDef.
Thanks Blu! I really want this! Have you received and played it yet with no problems? I'm just cautious because although it's region-free, the listing still says it's PAL format and I wondered if that's an issue playing it here in N.A.?

I have a bunch of UK DVD's that I play using a Daytek player that easily got around region and format differences with a simple remote hack. When I put one of those in my PS3 it says "This disc is in PAL format, cannot play" or something to that effect.

What do you mean by original? The ORIGINAL spiderman cartoons came out in the 60's. Those are great, have them on SD DVD and they look great.
