Yup, I'm off the marvel roller coaster. It was a nice ride till now, but somethings just need to end.

If only Cinemark here had kept Free Guy in 3D for more than just a few days
Maybe Sony had something to do with it? Be crazy if they don't release a 3D BluRay at least in Germany after having such a long 3D run in the theater.

My fave Marvel superhero film is far and away the first one, THE PUNISHER (1989). If only that had been made in 3D. Not a fan of the Avengers films at all. I like an occasional one now and then, such as ANT-MAN, and LOGAN. And of course, SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE, but that’s a very special one.

You pretty much answered your own question. The movie is too long, hard to fit in shows as it is on Flat specially now with most theaters running reduced hours.

I went to check my local theatres in Southern Ontario and the old theatre I use to be the projectionist for has a couple 3D showing for Bond. Which is surprising because Black Widow never got a 3D release here, but could of been Covid restriction reason for that. I just don’t trust going to a theatre yet, and for months to come. Hopefully this means a physical disc release will be coming

Cinemark here is offering showings of NTTD for 12 hours a day, with 20+ showings in total per day. One showing starts so late that if you see it, you'll be in the theater until after midnight.

Venom 2 has 30+ showings per day.

I think they have the space and the time. The only hangup that I could see is that all of the 3D showings, all of which are for Venom 2, are in the same auditorium. I do not believe that this is a real showstopper for offering NTTD in 3D as the auditorium is only offering a few 3D showings per day, leaving plenty of gaps for fitting in NTTD; I have seen 3D films in other auditoriums at the Cinemark here, so they could show NTTD in 3D in another auditorium.

I felt like the protagonist from the movie Bubble Boy. At the risk of assuming that you haven't seen this oft-panned B-movie ( ), the film culminates with the protagonist stepping outside of his literal bubble after accidentally learning that germs aren't as prevalent as he had been told. I've been going to the theater with regularity both in 2020 and 2021, no coof contracted.

I see what you're saying about avoiding trailers and not putting too much faith in them to represent the final film.

It's true that not all trailers are good at luring in a big potential audience. The John Carter 3D trailers as an example, even though I really enjoyed the movie and 3D in that 2012 film that didn't do well in theaters overall.

Hopefully Eternals turns out to be a good, entertaining movie. It's just that the trailers are either holding back a lot of key information about the villains who need to cause everything to go wrong, or they're intentionally going for a more tame presentation.

I guess these kind of slow paced trailers can inspire people, but I need to know more about what the real threat is to be excited to see how they're going to stop it, while watching the final film. By not really showing much of the enemy's true power, it's not luring me to rush to see it IMO.

And I can't really relate much to any of the Eternals trailer's heroes so far. Unlike other Marvel heroes where even Ant-Man I can relate to, and also DC heroes like Batman and Superman.

If the 3D is strong, that will help for sure.

It seems that Marcus Theatres has had enough of participating in that mask mandate nonsense the governor is still pushing in Illinois because I am now seeing 3D 4DX showtimes at the Gurnee Mills Cinema once again.

Smart move. It looks like they will be getting my money after causing my money to get redirected to Cinemark for Shang-Chi and Venom 2. No Marcus theatre location in an area with a mask mandate had Shang-Chi and Venom 2 showtimes in 3D

For me, I don't know if I'll see this one. Shang-Chi was OK but it lacked both charisma and a fun factor, with the trailers for this one looking similarly "meh", and reminding me of that Inhumans show that bombed, it'd have to be a "I watch it for the 3D" type film.

For whatever reason, we get (sporadic and inconvenient) 3D showings of films theatrically but next to no blurays. I'd rather get the 3D blurays and watch them on my time, rather than having to try and figure out how to see a mid-afternoon or late-night weekday showing of a film in 3D

THe early critic reviews are starting to come in, here in the UK, and they're not good for the most part. I often don't pay too much attention to critics, but in this case, the comments do align with the impressions I got from the trailer.

Somehow I just couldn't get interested in this film, it just didn't have the appeal of Shang-Chi or the upcoming Spider-Man film.
I'm getting very tired of the 'villain is hero's family/best-mate/work colleague' plot tropes that are all too common nowadays, and Marvel are prone to using endlessly in the MCU. That in itself is starting to make me tire of the MCU overall, along with the attitude of ignoring pre-existing TV shows, which are still canon despite what Screen Rant and CBR like to spew out every couple of weeks, is leaving me fed up with it all.
If Eternals follows Neil Gaiman's mini-series plot, then this will fit into that category as well.
But overall, I got the impression that it would be convoluted, and the whole thing just looks like a big budget movie version of Inhumans for the post part.

I haven't bought Black Widow on BD on account of it being unavailable in 3D (I don;t consider the Japanese release viable), and that will extend from here-on in by the looks of it. At least the MCU movies are still available to me on Disney+, although I'm not sure about Spider-Man. That won;t be on Disney+, and if Sony don't do a 3d release of it on physical media, then it leaves me in a no-mans land.

Don't take this the wrong way but this is a completely absurd thing to say and outright false. Black Widow is available on 3D blu ray, you just don't want to buy it.

Thank goodness you clarified, when I first read what they said about Black Widow being unavailable in 3D my MovieNEX copy on my shelf started to crumble away into nothingness, Thanos style

Definitely picking this up in 3D. Too bad it likely won't include D-Box support though

When I'm on intercontinental flights I tend to watch things I wouldn't normally buy or watch so still a good chance I'll see those on the plane sometime.

Fantastic 4 died already with the reboot and X-Men hasn't been good since X2.

This trailer for Eternals reminds me of the X-men. Judging by it, I'm not hyped for MCU X-men.

I'll be surprised if you're still hopping intercontinental flights long enough for these movies once they release, but I welcome your optimism.
