I believe the Kino Lorber Insider said that KL had another title for UHD that Criterion already did on blu-ray when they announced Silence of the Lambs. I wonder if there are any more like this, after Some Like it Hot and Silence of the Lambs.

KLI said that Kino "have more" Criterion titles for UHD but no set number. I hope they nabbed at least nabbed the two Kubrick films ("The Killing" and "Paths of Glory").

I wouldn't doubt if they had The Killing, Paths of Glory and/or The Graduate too.

The Killing is excellent and would be great! The Graduate is a higher priority wishlist title for 4K, also.

I still need to watch Paths of Glory.

If any one director needed their complete filmography on 4K, I'd say it's Kubrick.

This is one of my favorite films, but I'm still rocking my MGM disc in my Forever Marilyn boxset. I've been meaning to get the Criterion disc for years, but since it's a double dip, it just hasn't been on my priority list (Rebecca is in the same boat). I don't have a UHD player yet, but I've been getting some 4K discs to future proof myself. Wonder if I should upgrade to this instead of the Criterion disc.

Is this Marilyn Monroe’s official UHD debut?
Yes, unfortunately. Fox has most of her other big titles, and I don't expect Disney to put those out or license them any time soon. I don't see The Misfits (also with MGM) coming to UHD and The Prince & the Showgirl (with Warner) doesn't even have a standard Blu-ray.

I would get the 4K, it will use the 4K remaster for the included blu-ray too, so the Criterion in terms of film presentation will be obsolete.

The Criterion disc looks incredible. I'm sure the UHD will improve on that, but probably not a night and day difference. The Criterion release does have some unique extras too. It is a shame that Criterion dropped the ball by not securing 4K licenses to films in their collection, since it means those that do like extras may either have to double-dip, or lose out on some.

I sure hope the Kino UHD won't use Criterion's "cleaned up" audio track. Their filtering is bad to the point that the first sound of the film is destroyed (Criterion Blu first, MGM DVD second):

Then it should be the job of members in the KL thread and other place's to make it known. So they can hopefully track down other audio sources before going to test disc.

Strange no one mentioned that in the BD thread. Aside from that, is there any other audio problems that are there throughout the rest of the film?

I'll be that guy again. All those KL announcements are nice and all, but I'm not gonna lie and I'd prefer being able to actually buy some of the previously announced titles first instead: Eternal Sunshine, Hard Target, Touch Of Evil, Eastern Promises, Out Of Sight anyone?

Having just an ever growning list of announcements (without any actual release dates) doesn't quite do it for me I'm afraid.
