What are the best ones and/or makes that manufacture them?

Thanks in advance.

If you're looking for a new receiver and are looking for advice it may be best to provide what sort of budget you have. Depending on that, we may change our answers. Personally, I found Denon's latest line of receivers to be top quality. If budget is no problem I would highly recommend either the Denon 4308 or 5308.

If you are looking for something less than two thousand USD you may be referred to Yamaha or Onkyo.

i agree. thats a rather broad question to be asking.

is hdmi the only feature you're looking for? if not, what other features or capabilities are you looking to get out of this new receiver?

I'll agree with the previous post as well. Denon's are awesome. I have a 3808 and by far its one of the best feature to price ratio receivers out there. at least in my opinion it is.

the 4308 doesnt add a whole lot to the 3808. nothing that warrants adding another grand or so to the price tag.

but if you're looking for something cheaper, a lot of people tend to swear by onkyos. ive never personally tested or tries them out, because i think they're ugly as sin, but they have another great feature set for the price.

well it would be my first receiver, so i don't think i need to spend too much to see a major improvement over what i have (i'd spend around $500 for it)

i would like 3 hdmi inputs and 7.1 to support my BR and to be honest, i don't even know what other features receivers may have lol

any help would be appreciated

well if you want 3 HDMI inputs and 7.1PCM then you want the Sony STR-DG910.

But the Onkyo TX-SR605 would be a better choice for under $500.

Sony STR-DG910. 3 HDMI inputs and 7.1. You can get it on amazon for under 350.00. I have the 810 and love it, only difference between the two is 6.1 vs 7.1

If you can't afford the Denons, the Onkyo 805 is just as nice sounding...I use one and they are super sweet on the ears!
