Wish Criterion upgraded this one. Their UHDs this month have been stellar and Silence of the Lambs and Body Snatchers were a disaster for Kino.

I have no idea what to look for when it comes to a lot of picture quality stuff, especially compression and the like. I can't see an issue with Criterion's BD of Mulholland Drive, for example.

I can clearly see what's wrong with those screenshots even without clicking to make them full size.

Yeah, I personally had no issue with Shout’s Halloween UHD even though I could tell it wasn’t the greatest encode, but this is something else. Looks like something went wrong, but Kino will never fix it because the Insider says that the reviewers who don’t catch these errors gave their discs high marks.

Best to avoid their releases until screencaps come out.

I looked at them on my cell phone and they're visible even there. It's that bad.

I'm not touching this with a ten foot pole until I see some proof it doesn't suck.

My favorite Kubrick. I'll definitely be in for that. Now if Kino or Criterion can get around to "The Killing".

If anyone is thinking about pre-ordering this, check out the screen caps someone posted of Body Snatchers in that thread. What a nightmare.

So far screen caps of UHD without the HDR do not do justice to the actual movie in motion .

You should definitely be able to see those chroma issues in motion. They are not an HDR-to-SDR conversion error.

Also for those saying the killing it’s not the type of movie that would have a massive leap due to 4k.

Back to the announcement I really am sad to see how Kino's UHDs have been turning out. I may sell SotL but I'll keep Body Snatchers less Arrow or someone does it. *sigh*
