Sony is never going to offer day and date on their big AAA games. Those games cost too much to make and it's not sustainable to throw them in a subscription service day 1. They simply cannot afford to take the financial hit from lost sales the way MS can and make no mistakes, MS IS losing $$ from Game Pass. You may as well forget that ever happening unless Sony decides to significantly lower the production quality of their games and I don't think anybody here wants that! |

For what it’s worth there is a Sony patent for Trophies via emulation. https://patentscope.wipo.int/search/...NATIONALBIBLIO
It was filed Nov 2020 with a publication date March 2021. Game awards is just around the corner so maybe we will find out more sooner rather than later. Spring 2022 isn’t that far off either way. The word is they will be dropping PS Now branding and keeping PS+ as the umbrella. Including a catalog of classic PlayStation titles would be great for PC gamers and would entice valuable service subscribers from PC to bolster Sonys bank accounts by making it accessible on that platform just like MS has done. Without offering any day and date first party titles though I don’t see how it would be good value for money. Nintendo has been offering back catalog games with their online service and that only cost £17.99 a year. Pricing on this will be crucial. I would hope the price of tier 1 would be less than what we pay now with tier 2 being what we currently pay and tier 3 would probably be double what we currently pay which would probably push more people towards a monthly sub rather than annual. I wonder how they will handle the conversion for people who already have a few years of PS+ banked already. I know a years worth of gamepass converted to less than a years worth of GPU. Knowing Sony you will just have to pay the difference to unlock the tier you want. |

If you could download and rent the full emulated library of PS1 games for $19.99 a year, that would be nice. Otherwise, I play my PS1 collection on my PS2 and PS3. My PS1 kept overheating with the image onscreen being all dark and scrambled, so I gave it away to a friend many years ago.

![]() Look at MS, found a way to allow you to play Xbox, 360 etc. games on their consoles and as long as you own the disc, you get a free download of an enhanced version their BC team has been working on. All for free as far as i'm aware. To paywall more features is pathetic. I have PS Now atm because of the cheap 50% off discount but generally wouldn't consider it. In fact, their selections a bit dire but to buy the games i would play would have been more so i went for it. Let's hope Sony actual announce something good and friendly and to rival Game Pass for proper value that combines PS+ and PS Now and enhances them even more to actually give value. |

Am I the only one that could care less about this? Don't get me wrong. I'd love to replay Legend of Dragoon in 4K but I'm assuming that's not going to happen. What I'm expecting from this is the same pixelated game that we used to play only now it's stretched to fit my widescreen TV.
I'd love to be proven wrong but I don't think that going to be the case. |

Hopefully the new service at least allows you to download the games. No matter what it is, if most of the backwards compatible games from before the PS4 are streaming only I'll continue to ignore the service. |

I don’t believe the BC rumors, I don’t see it happening, but I’d love to be proven wrong
Anyway, my plus subscription expired earlier this month, and I have no interest in renewing it now, but if they offered a better service than the current model, I’m in |

The only thing I want out of a Game Pass type service is downloadable PS3 games.
That's it. There aren't a ton of pre-PS4 games that I think I need to play again, but there's maybe a dozen PS3 games I would still like to be able to play from time to time; specifically the Ratchet & Clank games, Katamari Forever, and a handful of JRPGs. And streaming is garbage no matter how good your connection. |
