We're lucky we're even getting a blu ray version.

Television on blu ray is nearly over.

It looks like they’re not including a digital code either. Or am I wrong? Sucks that they want you to buy physical AND digital media, separately.

Quite true. They'll keep the 4K/Dolby Vision content exclusive to their streaming platform. Took a play out of the Disney+ playbook.

Paramount doesn’t include digital copies with their tv shows.

You realize your 4K TV is a "decided step backward" to an 8K TV right? I mean seriously, you must be sitting like what 12 inches away from your TV to be concerned with all that "detail" you might be missing out on.
If they only were catering to the masses, they wouldn't have bother producing it in Dolby Vision and Atmaos.

For various reasons this streaming version looks much better then when you view it on a HD TV or even the same UHD Tv with streaming set to HD.

Watching at about 9ft from a 65" screen. Even my bad eyes can tell the difference.

In Paramount’s defence, at least it is coming out on blu ray. Amazon seems to think we’re content with an endless subscription to Prime for the Expanse season 5 and 6 or dvd only from here on out for Handmaid’s Tale. At this stage of the game dvd is a slap in the face since anyone invested enough to actually purchase a permanent copy likely wants it in at least hd.
If you’re watching on your smart phone, who cares? But some of us actually own nice surround equipment and can playback lossless sound. Some of us might actually have large tv’s or projectors. It would be nice if in their race to the bottom companies didn’t ignore the more discriminating consumer that WILL actually pay more for a better product.

Was hoping this was a digipack, but it appears it is just a standard case with slipcover. Since Best Buy finally dropped the steel price to something more reasonable, I went for that instead.

Can someone please verify if it is Region A locked and/or Region B playable. While I can play Region A would rather play discs on my Sony UBP-X700 UHD player and purchase it from Ammy quicker and cheaper than my Zavvi pre-order.

I've looked at a photo of the back of the set and there is no symbol stating "A" so it may well be Region B playable.

I watched this recently and felt the ending made sense, and don't get the hate it received. It felt mostly pretty logical minus a few things here and there. I would say it's probably the best season of Dexter since season 4.

Hello, created an account because I know how important it is to know this information. I can confirm that USA discs work on my UK PS5, so there is at least Region B compatibility and I would guess probably Region Free.

I pre-ordered the Steelbook on amazon.com before there was any UK announcement for the release intending to cancel my order if UK pre-orders surfaced. They did and I pre-ordered from Zavvi, but I somehow completely forgot I'd pre-ordered the US Steelbook so was caught by surprise when I got the dispatch email last week! I've tested all four discs on my UK PS5 and they play properly. I haven't gone through every individual episode but all get into the main disc menu without issue and the couple of episodes I tested had no problems.

Hope this helps.

Never saw this show but it was referenced a whole lot in a class I took in college. Pretty interesting it got a continuation years later.

Finished this and was relieved and totally onboard with the entire season, including its ending.
[Show spoiler]The show was always at its best when Dexter had his back against the wall in the face of overwhelming odds and I'm happy to see the creative team double down on that and didn't lean into any way to get Dex off the hook just so they could do another season.

The first 4 seasons of Dexter are well worth watching. By the last season(8), the show was well past it's expiration date and the series finale is one of the more derided series closers in TV history. The recent "Limited Series" revival was decent, certainly a step up from the last season or two of the original series and featured a much better resolution to the main character.

BTW, there is also a series of Dexter quasi-animated shorts with Michael Hall done about 10 years ago that can be found on YouTube.

From what I read, this new ending was the most logical one considering Michael C. Hall only agreed to return if he was allowed to give
[Show spoiler]closure to his character
.

"New Blood" made the final season of the original series look like season 1 of the original series. It was horrific in all the wrong ways.

Complete Series + New Blood set coming October 4th. Not sure if I hate the artwork, or really hate it.

In my opinion, i think they should continue the series with focusing on Dexter's son.

It was better than anything after season 4.
