Default Dexter: New Blood - March 22, 2022

As confirmed by writer Scott Reynolds earlier today. It will include an "exclusive 30-min bonus featurette." It will also get a steelbook release. No 4K from the looks of it, though that was always a longshot for this show.

Damn, I just downloaded it yesterday! Well, since they're being so quick with the blu-ray release, perhaps I'll just wait to buy/watch the blu-ray. Thanks for the heads up.

That is actually some cool artwork. Enjoyed the new series. Not sure how I feel about the finale. In retrospect, the original finale seems okay in that it gave us the storyline for this new series/reboot.

Same. Not sure, how I feel about the finale.
I liked the new series overall. I thought that it was pretty good, but not great.

I thought the actual ending was good, but some of the plotting that came before it was shaky. Some huge leaps being taken and a certain character's appearance felt really forced. But overall I'm glad this is the new ending and as someone previously said, the previous finale isn't so bad anymore since it led to this. I do wish this was a 4k disc since it streamed in 4k dolby vision, but it's still nice to have.

I do like the artwork and it is awesome to see Showtime/CBS still putting out physical media. That ending though....it broke me!

Agreed. I would never actually want to own it, but it's pretty beautiful to look at.

The ending was better than the original ending but I still hated it. Angela’s quick detective work in figuring out who Dexter was seemed extremely questionable and was a series of coincidence and convenience one right after another. Also, the entire series Dexter was very un-Dexter like in how careless he was. The show also felt extremely rushed in regard to the relationship between Harrison and Dexter.

I think this should have been a two season closure. Everything feels like it needed more time to be fleshed out.

I've kinda lost interest after this finale. One of the writers/producers said if asked they would "drop everything to do another season..."
Whether they make another or not doesn't really matter to me. This ending "killed" it for me pretty much.

Too bad it isn't getting a 4K release, but the regular Blu-ray's from the original series look great. I can't really complain. Already preordered and it's nice to see it include a slipcover, and some actual special features for once.

That's a great looking collection. I already owned all of the seasons around the time this came out, so I didn't look into it. I didn't know it looked this good.

Yeah, I was buying the season releases as they came out but sold them off when I heard about the complete series release. I kind of wish I kept those season sets too though, just for the easier disc access and individual season artwork.

Same here. I am glad that we got another season of Dexter. This season was good. I liked it. , but it lacked that knockout punch.

Just a heads up, the Blu-ray is currently 25% off ($29.99) on Amazon.

The only way I would buy this is if they ad another ending. How could they AGAIN do a worthless ending?

So where's the 4k version? It is streamed in UHD Dolby vision with dolby atmos sound. So the Blu-ray is a decided step backward. So for me a no sale at this time.

Not really sure why you're surprised that most companies only care about catering to the masses. Most people don't care about 4K and feel that it passes the point of diminishing returns. So why would they waste time releasing a 4K Blu-ray which will undoubtedly cost more money and only appeal to a small majority of sheeple? You realize your 4K TV is a "decided step backward" to an 8K TV right? I mean seriously, you must be sitting like what 12 inches away from your TV to be concerned with all that "detail" you might be missing out on. 🤣
