I dont agree with him nor really anyone all the time. But, in this case I felt he made some great points. Perhaps people are mad because he struck a nerve? A lot of people seem to watch YouTube (and engage with social media in general) to have their minds made up for them, to perpetually wallow in whatever groupthink they're part of, and not to engage in critical thinking. Ain't nobody got time for dat

Actually, most if not all of the posts related to this come up in movie-specific threads. It gets derailed sort of since the concept of general remakes/reboots gets injected and then we are not talking about said movie any longer. I thought a thread using a video that made some valid points that was NOT tied to any specific film was a better option. We cant keep clogging up the Snow White thread with this. Thats all.

Oh I agree. There are culprits on BOTH sides of the aisle though. Lets also make that crystal clear.

What is your general "take" on reboots and remakes? Or, sequels in general that come out so long after the fact and tend to be NOT well received? Are the fans all just wrong? Are expectations , even if high, a bad thing?

So lets try this. Every time some Directors have a project coming out, they use an old Marketing tool of calling out the big guns. Kind of like how the new guy showing up on a wrestling show wants a shot at the title. I do not believe it has worked for any of them.

So the problem is why do audiences not want to support original content?

What is the solution to that problem? It has nothing to do with Star Wars, Marvel, or DC.

I love the Drinker. He's probably my favorite youtuber. Plus, unlike most youtubers he's actually an accomplished author as well. He's able to better articulate a lot of the problems that I have with movies today.
