![]() ![]() That style reminds me of Street Fighter Alpha. I'm not a fan of the character designs in that game for the new characters. Even so, some of the characters look interesting. But not all in terms of clothing designs. ![]() To me, not great character design compared to the original classic characters. Match the style of the sprite based Super SFII characters with new characters. This seems like an extension of the Alpha style. I like Street Fighter but also would like to see more games that don't require tons of flashing special effects every time a guy throws a simple punch. It's like every move has to be a major event almost. |

As long as the old standards come back, I guess it doesn’t matter that much now that these games have much longer lifespans than they did back when a new one (or two!) would come out every year in the 90s. |

One major concern I've always had with the Street Fighter series for Super Street Fighter 2 and SF2 (haven't played enough of 3, 4, 5), is how overpowered Ryu and Ken were compared to every other character regarding the basic 3 kicks and 3 punches.
Their kicks and punches land so much more effectively than any other character. They're like the main go-to characters for winning. DeeJay has some good kicks thankfully, and Sagat some good kicks. I'm a Bruce Lee fan, but that guy in Super SF2 was not nearly as effective as Ken. Dhalsim? Forget it. I could throw a long punch and all Ryu had to do was punch my punch and Dhalsim got knocked back. Not good. Guile, without his flip kick special move, he's got some awkward horizontal kicks and weak punches. Chun Li has some decent kicks. Her slaps, not that effective. Thunder had some power, but still not as effective as Ken's kicks/punches. E. Honda, clumsy basic attacks. Cammy, a decent double spin horizontal strong kick, but that's about it. Blanka, okay basic attacks. Zangief, short ranged basic attacks. The Boxer had some decent punches (no kicks). The Matador guy with the mask, decent claw attacks for basic punches. I've played the series for years, and tried each character to master, but had to rely on their special attack moves all the time for most of them beyond Ken and Ryu. So for basic kicks and punches, Ken and Ryu are the easy choices. And then how the CPU computer fighter cheated too. |

I liked Sagat's knee upper move, and his Tiger uppercut though it was a little bit tougher to time since it seems to go straight up. Plus his Tiger flame shot was very helpful. "Tiger, Tiger, Tiger" he would say often. [Show spoiler]

Thanks. Looks interesting.
I can imagine being pummeled by an opponent with all those crazy combo moves and wondering how to counter other than pushing back to block. Sometimes it's not possible to block some attacks it seems in SF. Some of the camera cuts are a little too fast to tell what's happening. |

I have a love turned hate relationship with SF5, which is why I'm still unsure about this
on one hand, I loved the gameplay of 5 a lot, that I don't 'want' to move on. (I felt the same way about Mortal Kombat 11, I loved X too much that I've yet play 11). on the other hand, it got too exhausting keeping up with the game and its dlcs/updates that I don't feel like going through the same experience again with 6 so I'll either get it early and ignore all dlcs, or buy it years laters when all characters are out. |

Just seen the new trailer, it now has an adventure mode or something?
And fights can be played from behind the shoulder (?) like it was possible on the 3DS version. I'm a bit confused, but it looks promising. |

I haven't played SF games in a while but been a fan since the SNES days. I know the art of the animated characters got flak above but with the game being a set art style, i don't think the two not looking alike are an issue.
Personally i found it funny that Capcom now openly announce characters for post launch Year 1 rather than fear people will just not buy and wait. |

In World Tour mode, you create a character, then go through some basics with hand holding characters to get you used to the system and fights, and then you can explore a tiny section of the city offline.
Unless the map is hidden for other sections, the city looks small, but despite that, I think it's really original and cool that SF6 is even allowing an open city map (2 cities) to explore. You can climb parked vehicles and some low fences, but cannot jump onto moving vehicles. You can fight anyone with a level icon above them. Pop in for distant characters is bad. Within 40 feet, they suddenly appear. Create a player mode is nicely done for the options. Graphics are nice in 4K gameplay I think. Options were locked out in the demo. After you fight the Teacher Luke player, then you talk to the pink outfit girl and the demo ends. You cannot access the other parts of the city in this demo. They are wise to save that for the main game, or else I would not have interest in buying the main game if the demo game let me access the whole map city. You can fight with 6 button mode classic, but it's defaulted to a Modern button layout mode, which I actually appreciate as pressing the shoulder buttons feels a bit clumsy. I'll test both out though. Doesn't seem to be a day night cycle, but I did see night time in a trailer or picture. In the demo, you can level up, but progress will not be saved. I got to level 5. The demo takes place in a "NYC Times Square" type city in world tour. Other modes are Versus, letting you play 1 vs CPU or CPU vs CPU, or 1 vs 2p. Only Luke and Ryu are playable. Modern mode seems too easy though as it automatically does the special moves for you by pressing triangle with the right stick. From what I could tell anyway. The music is awful as all heck while in the city, but there was no way to stop it. Hopefully in the full game. 59.99 for the PS5 version, thank you Capcom. They're not following the greed of Sony. |

![]() I hear the game is very difficult to defeat the CPU at level 8 and up if true. Street Fighter 6 is definitely on my radar, and thank you Capcom, for offering an offline mode to explore the city right out of the door. I almost can't believe that feature isn't online only, but it's playable offline. Street Fighter 6 looks promising. I appreciate Capcom is giving the known characters lots of new moves to learn. |
