I switched to Mac in 2006. I have nothing against Microsoft ("hate" is mean word), but Windows was the source of too many sleepless nights and hair-pulling for me.

My computer is a custom Compaq Presario x6000, my O/S is XP Pro, love it. I hate Vista, but too be more accurate, Vista was & is still not readly for release, it should still be in Beta stage.

Frankly, I use microsoft products all the time . I had my share of problems (O.K., that IS an understatement ), but somehow I never managed to get accustomed to macs. In fact, I always thought of Apple products as a bit overpriced...
As for Microsoft's support for HD DVD, I really do not care. My blu drive works perfect with Vista and I do believe that eventually, MS will see the blu light

I've used an Apple/Mac since the mid 1980s and never had a problem. Currently have a 17" iMac desktop (1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive). We also have a Toshiba laptop at home that runs Windows Vista for our business.

Go Mac and Go Blu... could life be any better?

Mac is too expensive, simple as that. So I, like many others, really have little choice when it comes to buying a computer.

As a gamer, it's PC all the way. But I like a previous poster stated, Vista is practically still in beta mode. I'll get it later when they've got all the bugs out.
Win XP works fine for me anyhow.

I have been a PC person for MANY years. I started building my own machines when MS-DOS 2.0 was new. I love tinkering with machines by "getting under the hood". I am also a hard core gamer and I like to tweak the system to squeeze as much power out of my machine. You are limited with Mac systems when it comes to this.

Nothing but Solaris for me. I've run nothing but Solaris on my machines since day one.

IHMO, anyone who uses M$ products--unless there is absolutely no alternative--has more money than sense. And anyone using M$ Office need their heads examining.

Switched to Mac Feb of 2007 and NEVER going back. I would rather use my computer as it was intended then spend half the time trying to fix Viruses/Spyware and other crap.

I upgraded to OS X Leopard from Tiger and love it. Currently own 15" MacBook Pro with Intel 2.16GHZ Duo Core 2, 3GB of Ram, 120GB Hard Drive and its pretty peppy!

What really made me give Mac a chance was that they switched to Intel processors. Now everything can be upgraded with regular PC parts. Plus the ability to use both OS X and Windows if I wanted in case I couldn't adjust to Mac's OS which I must say is a work of art !

I've been on a Mac since 2001 and have never looked back. These days Mac are about $200 - $300 (tops) more expensive than a comprably configured computer from another manufacturer. To me, that balances out cone you include the amazing software that ships with a Mac. And of course, Macs retain their value much longer than other computers.
