I absolutely adore these filmmaker retrospective box sets.

I won't be getting this day 1, but I really do want to add it to my collection sooner than later.

^ I passed on the first two and don't regret it.

But I'm happy they exist. The Steckler tempts me more than the others, and is looks like something I would like to explore someday.

I still need to work my way through the first Chris Lee, and Haunts sets before I can think about buying anymore big ticket stuff.

Anyone know just HOW explicit the Steckler porno titles included in this set are?

I ask because I’m in the U.K. and will be a bit pissed off it gets seized by Customs.

I haven't seen the porn films myself, but someone described at least a couple of them as being hardcore.

Yeah 7 of the films in this are outright hardcore films.

I know some UK posters import VS titles regularly... I'm not up on the laws there but it doesn't seem like they would seize this unless one of the films is outright banned there.

Plenty of the VS and AI hardcore releases I have include plenty of kinky stuff that I believe is technically prohibited by the R18 rating. I’ve never had anything seized by customs, I think the thing is customs officials have so much else to deal with that they’re not going to take much notice to someone’s movie collection.

Does anyone know if this has been pushed back from the original 7/26 release date via the original announcement? Looks like Severin has removed that date from their purchase screen.

Hoping that the Sept 27th date is for retailers BESIDES Severin... lord knows I need this set and I couldn't tell you why.

I haven't heard of any official delay. Severin's releases usually show up on Amazon about two months later than they ship out directly from Severin.

However, with 7/26 being so late in the month, I expect that much of the Steckler set shipping will actually occur throughout August.

Severin has announced a major delay of 4 or 5 weeks, due to overseas printing issues.

Hopefully the box will ship by the end of August, but it could slide into September.

Glenn Erickson, CineSavant (formerly DVD Savant) has a review today, but he really only discusses the new transfer of INCREDIBLY STRANGE CREATURES.

I wonder how he scored a copy? Severin has otherwise been silent about this release since July.

the box was the hold up, not the discs, so maybe they sent out review discs.
