The more I think about this the more I sincerely hope this ends up being a VSU. It's nice that it's coming for those who want it but to me, this is such an awful piece of shit (and not in the so-bad-it's-good way), I really don't want to pay for it via 2023's subscription. If it does end up being included I'll have to send them an email to ask if they might be willing to swap it out for something else, even if it's cheaper.

Yeah I completely agree. I watched Sidekicks for the first time a couple months ago on tubi. It’s such a terrible corny after school special ripoff of The Karate Kid (1984) it’s embarrassing. Aaron Norris is such a awful director. All of Chuck’s worst films he directed.

Yikes! Noticed that too on the 4k SDR and BD, the source was def scanned 23.976 but encoded as 24. Hopefully VS are doing a completely new scan as the current 4k is also SDR.

For real. Awful all the way around, both Sidekicks and Aaron Norris. I can see why Chuck would work with him but as far as I'm concerned it definitely didn't do him any favors.

Of course Chuck has never been a good or even entertaining actor, but at least a few of the movies he's done are elevated by somewhat competent directors and good leads or solid supporting casts.

Makes me laugh when anyone trashes a movie like this. It’s like they think it was made to be high brow cinema LOL. This one was never heading towards the Oscars. It’s called escapism fun. Would hate to go through life and not be able to get any joy out of movies like this.

Actually that joke is so old Family Guy was just animating it. ‘Chuck Norris is so tough that’ was practically one of the original internet memes.

This release is as random as it gets and is hitting me surprisingly in the feels lol, may have to check it out. I was 9, Chuck was one of my idols, loved that movie.

I totally agree! Just today I checked out my copies of 'Rad' and 'Cloak and Dagger' and had a blast. A movie definitely doesn't have to filmatic cinema to be a hell of a lot of fun. I would even go so far as to say that most of the films on the Top 100 lists are amazing produced pieces of art, but very few of them can be as entertaining (and rewatchable) as the old fashioned nostalgia movies.

Yeah I completely agree mate. If you get offended by this movie, I am genuinely worried for you as a person. It’s a sweet little movie, with it’s heart in the right place. I’ve seen it a ton of times and it’s always a blast.

Hopefully we get the edition we are hoping for, critterdvd.

One of my favorite Chuck movies as a kid (also had a huge crush on Danica McKellar back then too). A shame the soundtrack-score has never been released. One of the first videos I posted on youtube many many years ago was taking bits and pieces of the music from the training scenes and compiling them together into one cohesive song.
