Sony's PlayStation 5 remasters of PlayStation 4 games have a $10 upgrade option: Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, & Uncharted Legacy of Thieves. Since Horizon Zero Dawn was originally released on PlayStation 4 it fits the latter category. |

Well let's be fair here. A total of 8 people probably played the first Witcher game. Hell I wasn't even familiar with the existence of the IP until somebody showed me Witcher 2 on X360. So I really don't mind this remake at all. The majority of gamers were first introduced to the series with part 3, so I think its perfectly reasonable to make this game.

But thanks for the heads up on the old Witcher 2 map. Quote:
I see your point about lesser known games, though keeping in mind, the success of Witcher 1 and then 2, are what helped CD Projekt Red save up enough money to make Witcher 3, before they became a publicly traded corporation of corruption with the botched release of Cyberclunk on consoles (for that first year easily). Hopefully they'll clean things up a little in time for Witcher 4. |

![]() I know it's unlikely to ever happen as there's just too many other games to play, but I wouldn't mind going back to the Xbox version of 2 and trying to finish it with a really good walkthrough from YouTube as I did enjoy the game when the map wasn't infuriating me. It is another in a long line of backwards compatible games that look great on the Xbox One X or Series X. Here's the article going into a lot better detail than I ever could that I remember reading after I gave up on playing the game a few years ago.... https://thatgamesux.com/getting-lost...o-build-a-map/ |

Thanks. I should test out Witcher 3. It's been a couple years since I played it. I was able to finish that game without a single update for the PS4 disc version. That was a quality game IMO from CDPR before they let the fortune made go to their heads... |

You're welcome. Going from The Witcher 3 to 2, it was jarring and surprising to say the least. Given how solid traversal is overall in 3, I was surprised how archaic and just plain bad it was in 2 with the map being so bad. I would have been fine with not having the automatic waypoints guiding you, even if I like that, as long as the map itself was easy to use to still find things. I get that it's an old game, but I expected better from a developer like CD Projekt Red, instead of not hitting their stride until The Witcher 3. |
