Last thing I knew was that MGM held the rights to Mad Max as warner has the other two. If and when they do release MMBT they need to do a complete restore the DVD was aweful, pic. sound the entire thing. My laser disc had better sound that the 5.1 crappy mix on the dvd.

I agree that part 2 is more well known and that is why it was released first. I enjoyed both 1 and 2, I except part 3 only becuase it is part of the trilogy. I would definetly buy 1 and 3 if they were out on blu

I think that all of us that are Max fans want all three films on Blu. And admittedly, Beyond Thunderdome was the weakest of the three, it's still part of the story and I would want the complete collection.

That said, I'm willing to wait as long as it takes to completely re-master Mad Max, and make sure it will look the best it ever will on Blu-ray. It's been said about many other catelog titles, and it certainly applies here...

I see what the op is saying. You have every right to be frustrated.

However, look at it this way, few people get at least one movie they love so much transfered as WELL as Road Warrior.

I mean...for a 20+ year old movie...it is insane!!! Okay okay...the night shots are a little rough and grainy, but that is the nature of the beast and at least it is good clean organic grain and not noise.

Two men entah!!! One maaaan leaves!!!

My take on the reason why is purely the success of Road Warrior in comparison to the others. They know that Road Warrior will sell but not sure how well Thunderdome will sell. Also, I don't believe Warner owns Mad Max, but they own Road Warrior and Thunderdome. Not sure if the owner of the first one has moved forward with a blu thinking????
Just my thoughts.

Just saw "Navy SEALS" from 20th Century Fox.

And on the disc there was a trailer for "Mad Max", it didn't say anything about a BD release, but the only two others who had trailers there "The Terminator" and "Windtalkers" which both have been released.

It's MGM that owns the rights to "Mad Max", and Fox releases for MGM.

So hopefully it will get released soon.

But on a sad note, MGM doesn't have a good track record on doing justice to their BD releases, spesially the older ones. "RoboCop" wasn't great. Neither was "Navy SEALS". So unless MGM buys a great transfer from the Australian rights owner, the hope for a transfer as good as "The Road Warrior" is extremly low.

My thoughts?

I absolutely love Thunderdome.
The Road Warrior was bad ass.
