Actually, my order status has been updated so maybe it's getting ready to ship. I'm in no rush since I own the 88 Films edition.

I have the 88 Films uhd release for ZH, also. Very solid effort on 88's part. It'll be interesting to compare the two releases, once the Severin disc arrives. We're living in great times as collectors to be able to choose between multiple UHD releases of Zombie Holocaust and Count Dracula 1970, neither of which I thought would ever see the 4k format in the first place.

C'mon, Anthropophagous 4h uhd! Hopefully based on a 4k scan of the ocn, if it still exists! I also hope some of our favorite cannibal/jungle action flicks that are on Severin's work slate now will show up in the early part of 2024, if not sooner. Maybe we'll get an update soon on those.

Can't wait to see Mountain of the Cannibal God in 4K. One of my favorites of the genre.

I think Mountain and Eaten Alive! will look positively stellar on 4k if sourced from their respective ocns, and Last Cannibal World should see a major upgrade. Last Cannibal could really use a top-shelf remastering effort for its audio....

I just checked and my status was changed to "shipping." Pre-ordered on September 21st. It will be nice because I had Haunted Samurai on the order and I've been wanting to watch it.

You guys weren't kidding. My Diabolik order also just changed to "shipping", but they haven't even printed out my shipping label yet. It's usually a good 3 to 4 days after they print my label that they hand the parcel off to the carrier, and then a good four days from NJ to my door in Florida. At least it looks to be in the works sooner than I anticipated. Sweet. I wish I could've ordered The Church 4k and The Sect 4k from Diabolik as well and gotten them all at the same time, in a nicely packed box...

My ZH from Severin is in transit. Will be a perfect reason to revisit the movie when it arrives. :-)

I watched the Doctor Butcher M.D. version on my 4k copy last night. Absolutely blown away. Both the visuals and well balanced, punchy audio brought it to theatrical dimensions not experienced before. Both the Italian footage and Craven/Frumkes footage. I couldn't be happier! I wasn't expecting such a wide case & slipcover. Very nice, embossed, VS duty and full gloss. It stands bolder than Grindhouse on the shelf!

Questions on the new Severin...

It contains Doctor Butcher M.D. cut and the Zombie Holocaust cut in 4K, right?

Which version of the Zombie Holocaust cut is uncluded? Is it the same as 88 Films with the english extra scene included in the movie?

If you mean the pit scene. I'm 99% sure the Severin 4k will contain that because their previous bluray did.

I couldn't figure it out from the picture. Do you keep your movies in any kind of order? Just curious as I wouldn't be able to find anything if I did that.

I have the 88 Films 4K, but I'm planning to order the Severin release very soon also. I remember when a friend from high school first introduced me to the movie more than thirty years ago. I still laugh when
[Show spoiler]the native orderly jumps out the window, and the obvious dummy's arm pops out at landing.

I have the 88 Films release and my Severin copy should be delivered by week's end.

I guess they've done the best they can about that opening credit sequence. It's the brightest its ever looked on 4K but it's still dark as f**k lol.

I still chuckle at that scene with the nurse near the beginning. Her scream is so primal but it's out of sync and completely mismatched to her actual facial expressions immediately following the scream. BTW, am I the only one that thinks the doc looks like Steven Spielberg? lol

I hate alphabetical and how it forces oddball sized cases to ruin standard case flow. With horror, this is a horror cabinet, I go by label and then their varying packaging types grouped within that. If a sequel I care about happens from a different label, it stays with pt 1. By packaging size alone, with no cheating, Dr Butcher in the Severin group, sits right beside Grindhouse. Fate made "Make Them Die Slowly" & "Dr Butcher M.D." appear together here, like it's 80's 42nd street or an 80's video store again. No issues finding any titles for me since vhs. Somehow, I know which titles are released by which label without even thinking about it. And which ones are in rubbermaid boxes, not shelved. In those boxes, same label groupings. You needed to hear all this.

I still haven't watched the Zombie Holocaust disc. I never bought the 88 4k, very interested in seeing screenshot comparisons of the two. But must say, if 88's release is lucky, it's equal to Severin's. It surely can't be an improvement. No way!
