Strange New Worlds is a wildcard for now. If it maintains the season 1 quality it will be potentially number 2.

I know it's not available yet on Blu-ray, but Picard S3 is phenomenal. Find an online coupon for a free month of Paramount+ and binge that.

I agree it's phenomenal but question whether it would be to someone with no familiarity with the characters?

I should check out DS9 again. I tried when it originally aired for a few episodes and didn't really like any of them. The only one I did like was the baseball one, and that's just I'm a baseball fan.

Voyager is underrated in my opinion. "Year of Hell" is some of the best Star Trek period.

Watching TNG mainly on weekends now and it's a fun ride.

If you haven't watched any of them, you may just want to watch them in order of when they came out TOS, TAS, TNG, ENT and the TOS/TNG movies are finished and out on BD. I would probably recommend you watch DS9 and Voy as well even though they aren't on BD. I love all the old Trek shows (TNG and DS9 are probably my least favorite but for a lot of people those would be their favorite shows). Then move onto the new shows. I went back and watched again all the old shows during the pandemic. I have all the old show BDs and Disc, but am going to hold off and try to get box sets when the other shows finish or my kids finish college first.

I would recommend going in the order they were release: TNG, DS9, Voyager, then Enterprise. This is how I did it over the last 2 (maybe 3) years, and while I think DS9 was the best of the bunch, I was very glad I waited until after TNG to view it, giving myself a lot more context into the world and overlapping characters.

This. If you don't watch in order of released, it will be more confusing when characters overlap series. Especially, TNG to DS9. Once seen you can revisit in any order, but best to go in order the first time through.

Personally I'm a fan of TOS. Of the newer shows Strange New Worlds is most similar to that, and it's great. Discovery started mediocre and became unbearably bad in the later seasons. Voyager and DS9 are not available in HD. Not a big fan of TNG, but it had a few fantastic episodes (like Best of Both Worlds). I liked some of the Enterprise seasons.
I’ll watch ds9 on paramount then, thanks everyone

I enjoy Star Trek Enterprise the most then possibly TNG!

TNG is easily accessible both in terms of viewing (its fully available in HD on Blu-Ray), and it has some of the most iconic episodes in the Star Trek franchise and 4 feature films.

It's probably the best jumping on point, however I do echo others in this thread that Deep Space Nine is probably the best.

Do what I’m doing and start from the very beginning. DS9 and Voyager look kinda rough compared to the shows on Blu but the DVDs don’t look too bad upscaled on a 4K player.

I think it's best to start with TNG. It's all on Blu.

DS9 is just as good, but it kicks off with some important background info that you should get from TNG seasons 4-5 first.

Wouldn't even consider anything that's come out in the last 10 years.

Picard Season 3 and Strange New Worlds should definitely be on the list as well as Lower Decks if you like your animated shows.

If you are not opposed to DVDs I have to admit that Voyager and DS9 looked pretty good on my 72”. In fact I have blocking issues with paramount+ so sometimes it was even better than the upscalled streams.

DS9 has a lot of nostalgia for a lot of people, I remember when it was actually running it wasn't considered so highly, unlike TNG which seemed to be universally praised after the first few seasons.

They've made Trek for any sort of fan now. I'm old school and prefer the TOS and TNG myself. Voyager is too pop and Enterprise doesn't feel canonical imo. I actually like Lower Decks for some strange reason when I had P+, Trek themed Rick n Morty

EDIT: RANK 'EM!

ST TNG
ST TOS
ST DS9
.
.
.
ST VOY

Haven't seen much of the many new series they've released, Picard S1 left me cold but I hear it got worse then got better?

It's all good, but I'd start with Strange New Worlds. If you like that, then try Star Trek: TNG (from season 3 on wards) and you'll be in a good position to watch Picard Season 3.

I need to watch DS9.
