Interesting. I'm not entirely surprised that Paramount is releasing this one separately (especially since I feel like this is the one people would want the most out of that set). I guess we'll see if they feel the need to do individual releases for the other two.

MAYBE the Unmasking The Horror EPK featurette could make an appearance, but I wouldn't count on the Creed music video coming back, either. If I had to guess, I'll assume that this will be a barebones UHD disc only, maybe a digital copy thrown in there, too, with the steelbook and the film being available on its own being the selling points. As far as a version of the movie with Ottman's score goes, I don't see it happening. If it were in the cards, it would've likely been on one of SF's releases by now. It's not a bad score, although I don't think it really fits the tone of the film (outside of the new orchestration of the original score, which is one of Ottman's skills). I do think that just placing the Scream score in there was also a mistake, though, so it's not really a great situation all around. Ottman's score is available on disc, though, for anyone that wants to hear it (under the name "Portraits of Terror"). |

I like H20 a lot, but it has the worst Myers in the franchise. If they had used the dude that played Myers during the climax of the theatrical cut of H6 and kept using the H6-style mask as seen in the opening scene of H20, it would’ve been so much better.

The Shape looked like Chucky in some scenes. It was weird. I remember being very depressed when the ending happened. Then Resurrection came out and I was elated. Now? I'd rather watch Ends. I'm weird, I know.

I personally like Chris Durand as the shape. Pre-James Jude Courtney, I like Durand and Don Shanks the most (the best of course is still Nick Castle). However, the mask/s is/are easily the worst in the series for me. Worse than the masks in 4 & 5. The repurposed H6 mask is the best of the lot in H20 but it's only in that one brief shot so it fails to leave much of an impression.

Thanks to your comment. I listened to Ottman's score last night on Youtube. And I wasn't a fan. It largely put me to sleep. The "Face to Face" track had some intense moments that worked, but otherwise it was really dull(beautiful classical music, just dull in terms of a horror score) and I can't see it fitting in the movie completely. The Scream score isn't great either, but I guess gets the job done with a quick cheap fix than redoing the score completely. Something that experiments(in a good way) with the original Carpenter score would've been better. Since it's all about that score, much like the Friday the 13th series, it's iconic and just making new variations of it with various instruments is all that's really needed in my opinion. Alan Howarth did a great job with that with his renditions on the sequels. |

But even so, I still can't take the Shape seriously in H20. To me he's the least intimidating and least menacing Michael Myers in the whole series. He should've been told to study the movements of Nick Castle and/or Dick Warlock. I mean, how can anyone take this seriously? ![]() |
