Really hoping The Zeta Project and Static Shock get releases on BD soon. That way we can have the entire DCAU in HD.

I feel like the first post should list the animations that Warners have released. That way there can be some running total.

So they knowingly sold cartoon fans a bill of good and tried to use weasel words for plausible deniability.

Again. This would NEVER happen with a WAC live action film. Can you imagine if they threw a TCM HD copy of a 1930s film on a disc and called it a day.

And for the record, Jerry said plain as day these would NOT be the HBO Max versions.

Quote:
And with it a group of first-time-on-blu-ray, restored HD Warner cartoon classics – not the same restorations from HBO-Max and MeTV: an upgrade.
Why is it so hard to acknowledge the obvious.

I should mention that I do like the Looney Tunes Collector's Choice release just fine. The HBO Max restorations are not the best restorations I've ever seen, but they are certainly better than any home video release of these cartoons I've owned and they are still pretty good overall.

You could say the same thing about any of the existing HD masters of live action films. But George makes a big deal about how they don't meet WAC's "exacting high standards".

Why do cartoon fans have to constantly settle for less? From the same label?

What is the point of having this thread? Is it just to air the same grievance that’s been aired repeatedly for the past 3 years? Because I don’t think that adds anything to the board.

The thread was created so one user could continue to spew ad nauseum after polluting other threads with the same muck. He will never have anything new to say, and discerning moderators should recognize that it's time to lock and kill this thread.

Why did you post in this thread of your own free will if you think it shouldn't exist?

Same reason you take your pet to the Vet when it's time to cross the rainbow bridge. It's not like you think it'll get better.

I've gotta disagree. We're just over half way through the year and we've already gotten Looney Tunes and they've released/announced two animated feature films. Who knows what the rest of the year will bring. That's also not including the fact that almost all of their latest releases have one or two shorts on them. You can tell that George really wants to get their shorts on disc, and I think WAC is trying to do that the best they can. I'm not saying all of their releases have been perfect because they haven't, but I definitely think we should be grateful for what we have gotten and for the releases yet to come.
I still think the Popeye Blu-Ray discs they put out are minor miracles.

See, this is why I get riled up. No one addresses my underlying question. Why does WAC have these problems with animation and only animation?

I created a thread to create a conversation and keep it out of other threads, and yet There's still just drive-by postings making ad-hominems at my expense or demands to shut the conversation down altogether. That makes it seem like there is no good reason.

You don’t have any questions. You just have the same complaint over and over again. That’s why people roll their eyes at you. Even if you have a decent point, which I think you might, it’s grating. I mean, even most of the people who agree with you are tired of it, I’d guess.

I feel like it's the 4th-5th time in the past few months that these same complaints about WAC's animation have been trotted out under the guise of creating a conversation and then gets annoyed about getting the same type of responses that they got last time.

Except this time its in a separate thread that can be easily ignored by people who don't want to see them.

IF WAC acknowledged, let alone fixed, their messes, that would be one thing. But it's just nothing but radio silence.

What kind of conversation were you intending to create with this thread that hasn't all been said before? Especially as you say there's been zero news about either of these two flawed releases in the past two months.

If the aim of this thread is just to air the same complaints you've been making since May of this year and December of 2020 without you yourself receiving any blowback, I don't feel like this thread has a valid reason to exist.
