Huge news. All three of the Scooby-Doo films were staples of my childhood, and I fondly remember some of the others from Boomerang. I know Reluctant Werewolf was very early digipaint (and I believe a couple of the others too), and I wonder how it will look in HD. Ghoul School and Boo Brothers were cels though.

This gives me hope that WAC now has access to more Scooby material. Zombie Island would be a godsend. One of the glaring omissions from my BD collection. The missing 70s material would be very nice too.

Wait... WB/WAC is willing to release a Scrappy Doo product where he's seen in a good image?

This set announcement just made my day. What a great release announcement.

I wonder if WAC could also do some of the holiday specials at some point? Perhaps Yogi's First Christmas. Yogi's First Christmas is one of the staples of my childhood. I watched it every Christmas.

I've seen most of these but some of them I haven't seen in many years. The idea of seeing them on Blu-ray is enormously exciting. There are a few I still haven't seen yet, too.

Still enormously happy about this announcement!

This is seriously fantastic news. Warner Archive is on FIRE and with this I think they're showing us they're commited to release more animation this year - and for that they have my entire support. They've released a couple of impossible gems last year, we thought there couldn't be more, but Warner has, literally, a lot of gems in their archive! Hah.

To be honest, these I've never seen and probably most of them are not that good; but I will be buying still to support this endeavour, get more animation, and because, hey, most of these are probably going to be BEAUTIFUL HD prints, that enough is worth the price of admission.

Thank you, Warner. Please keep 'em coming. Animation is due some more love in HD!

Definitely on my list, though the only ones I’ve definitely seen are the Jetsons ones. Thought these would be stuck on DVD, tbh.

More animation on Blu-ray is always welcome.

A part of me wonders if any more of the WB Cartoon Network original series I grew up with can get upgraded to Blu-ray. I would love a complete Powerpuff Girls Blu-ray box set with the entire series and the feature-film. The only question - was it edited on video or are there film prints available? I would love it to be available in high-definition. Same with Dexter's Laboratory, etc. I wonder if Warner Archive could look into this and see if film prints exist and if these could be scanned.

That's a shocker. I think this confirm's that the main WHV arm's grasp on Scooby has been lifted, or at least loosened considerably.

Wow! Such a fantastic announcement! I wonder if we are ever going to get a blu ray upgrade for 'Yogi's First Christmas' or some of the Flintstone christmas specials as well.

This isn't H-B related, but it is animation related. If they're doing box sets now, they should do the 1950's Popeyes as one big box. That way they can put them out as one unit, and not have to worry about selling subsequent volumes.

I'm having the same issue from when preordering Conan. Order all the titles in one box set to save space and money...

...but that original art work.

Yogi's First Christmas has a very nice HD restoration available digitally. It has the Operation Prime Time opening logo restored to the beginning of it. I'm guessing at some point they will release a box set similar to the Rankin/Bass box set that collects all the Hanna-Barbera Christmas specials.

They don't care THAT much about Scrappy content. They've never actually taken any of it out of circulation. These 3 films have been widely available on video for decades; the old DVDs are still in print. Boomerang and (back in the day) Cartoon Network showed reruns of all the Scrappy stuff regularly. It's all been available digitally for 10 years. Warner finally released The Scooby-Doo & Scrappy-Doo Show on DVD several years ago. The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo came out in 2012. The only reason the other Scrappy content hasn't made it to disc is because it's simply more niche/obscure. Even there, they tried releasing the Scooby-Doo & Scrappy Doo shorts (alongside Richie Rich), but canceled after one volume, probably due to poor sales.

The only ways they've really buried Scrappy is not including him on the packaging for some of this stuff, and not including him in any new content.

It helps a good solid chunk of them are in the public domain. It’d definitely make things easier. Perfect for the sailor’s 95th anniversary.
