Just like KFP4, I've never watched the first 3 in 3D, I just watched KFP4 3D without watching them. I might do the same here.
Kung Fu Panda is a really good movie with excellent 3-D. KFP2 isn’t nearly as good (largely due to the main character becoming an annoying self-obsessed one-liner-riddled jerk), but the 3-D is pretty good although not as good as the first film. Haven’t seen 3 or 4 yet.

I caught this in 3D a long time back and it's another Illumination masterclass at how to produce a bombastic 3D experience. Lots of pop-outs, stuff thrown or brought right up to you to make it seem like it's right in front of you, immaculate depth throughout made this a great 3D experience. I haven't even watched the previous Despicable Me films and I thoroughly enjoyed this overall. The Vudu release is cool but it would be better on 3D Blu-ray so here's hoping Turbine releases this with other unreleased Universal titles like Puss in Boots 2 and Super Mario Bros. so fingers crossed for that 3D Blu-ray release.

For whatever reason, Puss in Boots 2 is nowhere to be found and is the only one I haven't seen. If I had a priority list then it would be.

1. Super Mario
2. Puss in Boots
3. KFP4.

Possibly from Turbine way down the road. But that's about the only hope.

So...I've seen some negative reviews about this movie but it also made a lot of money. But then so did Rise of Gru.... Anyway ...

From the first frame of the movie it is clear that the 3D will be great. I haven't properly watched the first 3 movies in 3D. But I feel pretty confident in saying that this has the best 3D of all 4 movies. The audio is also outstanding with great surround and nice integrated height moments with some use even in the end credits. It has very nice LFE moments too.

The story reminded me a little of Incredibles 2 which is (more or less) classic Pixar. But DM4 is closer to Looney Tunes, totally silly, and I loved every minute of it. Even Karate Dojo scene worked because they didn't have to appease (or maybe get their money's worth) from the Oscar winner. The voice cast is great and Ferrell, Vergara and even Joey King were excellent additions.

Maybe the best 3D of the series with excellent Atmos and LFE and a fun heartwarming family story. This is up there with Angry Birds as one of my all time favorites.

I actually saw myself on Tuesday that it had gone down to $20 as I was checking every Tuesday and Friday (when vast majority of decreases happen). That's probably as low as it will go in the foreseeable future so it was time to buy. I watched it after work today with chicken tenders. And the 3D in this is very very good. It's usually medium or medium strong, more of the latter, and occasionally goes strong. The 3D is also used really well, for example to show how long hallways are, and also to show how long the family has to walk to their new house from the street (it's actually a cool plot point). There are also a lot of cool popouts and they usually last for a couple seconds. This is certainly as good as the 3D is in DM 1, the only other one I've seen in 3D. And it's definitely better than the recent Minions 3D. Story's OK. Definitely not on par with DM 1 which was the best in the series I think, it's about as good as the recent Minions I guess. But it also feels kind of unnecessary, nothing new added. And I would have liked it if the girls would age at some point. They've been exactly the same the entire series, it's like the Simpsons that way I guess. Even if it was just 2 years or something it would have been nice, give them teenager problems to deal with, other than Gru being awkward lol. Anyway, while the story is kind of throwaway the 3D is excellent so I definitely recommend if you have a way to watch it. If Turbine gets this on physical I will buy it!

Definitely better in every way than recent Gru movie with better 3D and a very simple story but it works well enough. I agree the story is unnecessary but it was just following the decade long Hollywood trend of replacing established male leads with a "new and improved" female lead. But to be fair, I thought in this movie, the "transition" was handled well. It helped that Awkwafina's natural ability to be grating and annoying has been dialled right back.

KFP4 is nothing spectacular but with a simple and fun story, decent audio and very good 3D, this would definitely be on my 3D blu-ray "to buy" list.

Maybe not the best 3D in the series but this is a good looking movie in 3D and definitely better than the 3D in DM3.

It's not as flashy as the first two (which were rad!), but by and large, quite good nevertheless.

That extensive POV flight through the AVL headquarters was jaw-dropping!

Can't remember tbh. But I (again) hope that the Bumblebee effect is in "effect" and the 3D looks even better on disc than it did on streaming.

Not sure if my actual review of the movie (which says the 3D might be better than the first two) is correct or my subsequent recollection of it being not quite as good. I won't spoil the fun and just wait for the disc

DM4 shipped today! I watched in theater RealD3D and enjoyed it. Picked up the AMC Mega Mel Popcorn Bucket that same day.
