Can you give any other example a 40GBP 4K option in the vintage classics line was the only option offered ever?

I am pretty sure fnac accidently even had the regular already up for pre-order as an import (as in one could actually order this for 29.99 € but the pre-order is dead by now): https://www.fnac.com/a20240533/The-L...omnsearchpos=2

EAN is 5055201851796 (opposed to 5055201851802 of the LE)

21GBP steelbook available of The Man Who Fell to Earth:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-M...lu-ray/328283/

Cheap enough to be considered a standard edition IMO

I don't know. Isn't it kind of the point though?

If the collector's edition of lavender Hill mob was the same price of the standard editions, I think people would be fine with buying the CE

Unfortunately, I don't have any more space for these big boxes. For me, it's not about the price point. The Ladykillers and Kind Hearts & Coronets standard packaging size is ideal, without all the useless swag. That's just my personal preference, and why I have yet to pick this one up.

I agree on the big boxes thing, basically I picked this up a while back and then bought a regular used blu of it and put it in that case

That's a brilliant idea. I just realized it came out in April of this year, so usually, it takes a year for the standard edition to show up. I'll try to be patient. If not, I'll resort to your ingenious method, cheers!

Wonder why they released this in a limited edition, but not Kind Hearts and Coronets?! I was waiting for a standard edition as well to match that one.

KH&C and The Ladykillers already had a blu-ray LE. Seems like if they did that, they go straight to standard as assume there won't be many people want to buy another big box. Which is good, also means for those who did get it they can swap in the discs when they get the 4K.

The Ladykillers also got a big 4K box first as well. Kind Hearts is the only one that got a 4K standard + slip right off the bat. Though The Man in the White Suit seems to have a slimmer box coming. Just want some consistency for my shelf is all!
