This is oddly more entertaining and rewatchable than the first one, I'm not sure why since the first is a better film, but for some reason it loses the rewatch factor for me, maybe because it takes itself too seriously, II goes off the rails but in a good way. I have to go 10 years between viewings of the first, but I've seen II a bunch more times. But dear lord stop before you get to Species III.

I was not aware that this is now out of print in NA.. I remember the effects were good so there is a reason to get it I guess. But to say this is better than the first is crazy talk. The Species story is great. I think it has to be based on the Pioneer plaques and Voyager Golden Records. Species II is like a parody of bad sci-fi movies.
