In IMAX laser 3D this was just stunning - the layering and pop outs were plentiful. I think the projectionist was out to lunch though, cause for a movie that was supposed to start at 4, it didn't happen some thirty minutes later, minus all the previews

There are a lot of stunning 3D reviews out for this. Super hyped for this.

This MUST be the comeback of a Disney 3D Blu-ray, beside the MCU titles. Please 2025 give us that miracle!

Would freak out if we would see this, Jungle Cruise, Xmen: Dark Phoenix & Free Guy on a 3D Blu-ray next year.

And Inside Out 2, and Encanto, and Turning Red, and Elemental, while we’re at it. But I fear we’ll need to keep dreaming.

Despicable Me 2? Did you mean the 4th instalment. But that's Universal/Dreamworks to decide to make the release.

I'd look for Ron's Gone Wrong, Soul, Mulan and others that Disney didn't release beside the ones both of you mentioned.

I’m so sorry, my brain meant Inside Out 2 but my incompetent fingers typed Despicable Me 2.

Yeah, no need to be sorry. I also have a brain that types things different than my fingers do.

Talking about ticket sales in general (2D/3D/premium formats), its bombing. don't think this will be the one bringing 3D back to bluray, sorry...

Even if it made 100 billion dollars Disney wouldn't release it on 3D Blu-ray.

Merry Christmas to everyone.

Last midnight I went to watch Mufasa The Lion King in 3D IMAX. Room with maybe 30/40 people watching.

I liked the story, not so much the singing (but that's a me problem ).

[Show spoiler]The dedication to James Earl Jones was a nice touch.

About the 3D. Comparing it with 2019's The Lion King it falls a bit short. This movie only has some momentary amazing shots while the previous movie was from the start to finish amazing in 3D. Even the 1994's The Lion King has better 3D all-around imo.

Disney could have done much better in my opinion.

Still... it's a good movie to watch if anyone is in the limbo to go see it or not.

Enjoy Christmas too, thanks!
Thanks for your thoughts on the 3D also.

Well that one was converted after the fact. When it first played in theaters, you could only watch it in 2D...

I saw Lion King 1994 animated re-released in 3D in theaters, then eventually bought the blu ray 3D too (and of the live-action Lion King 2019 3D blu ray and in 3D theaters). It was good to see converted into 3D during that phase where Disney was converting their animated films to 3D. I thought Little Mermaid animated 3D and Beauty and the Beast animated 3D had the edge for the 3D over Lion King animated's 3D.

Good 3D, decent plot, horrid songs (nowhere near as good as the original songs, and I don’t mind most musicals), and a bit too long. Overall, an ok sequel.

Sad we won’t get a physical disc. Would actually be pretty good if I could skip all the songs at home and cut 20 mins off the runtime.

Looks like it came "roaring" back to hit $100 million by the end of this weekend. Saw it with a nice size audience in Imax 3D

Looks more like "Bombasa" to me. Domestic numbers are bad, 10 days in $88 million, in comparison Sonic 3 is at $111 million also 10 days in.
