If you are wondering about ordering from amazon usa, for the Toronto area at least, the delivery is handed to whoever is doing the Amazon Canada deliveries after going through customs.
Once again no email was sent after the package was left on the porch. |

Wowhd shipped me both my pre-orders during the strike. One went out on Nov 21st and the other on November 27. I so far got one of the two, with the tracking showing the second is near.

I heard that Purolator and Ups are now affected in the Strike, why doesn't Trudeau and this government do anything apart from raising taxes. Doesn't Trudeau know that this strike is hurting him also, he won't get his new Socks in time for Christmas.

If it were up to Trudeau, he would have legislated them back to work already.

Yeah, there's a pretty big backlog. I've had an order from Best Buy still "left Etobicoke sorting facility" for 4 days now. I got in touch with Purolator (by chat because they are no longer taking phone calls) and was told that means it's sitting in a truck in the parking lot waiting for a driver to finally leave with it. One of many full trucks waiting for drivers.

Looks like Canada Post is being legislated back to work under the current collective agreement (until May 2025). Things might start moving again sometime next week.

The Labour Minister did not talk about legislation at all but instead ordering the resumption of Canad Post services after hearing back from some commission. Doesn't sound like Canada Post will be fully operating on Monday.

It will take WEEKS for them to get back to normal levels even if they will be "legislated" back to work at some point, if that is certain at all. There's so much backlog at the moment, where to even start? With only a week to go before Christmas, well, good luck to all parties involved. At first the (Canadian) government chose not to intervene because both the union and (Canada Post) the company were so far apart in talks, now 28 days later, the CUPW are losing their (chartered) right to strike. What does it show: that "you" can strike for your (chartered) rights, but only for a limited time. Well, done, Canada!

I had to go to Amazon.ca/com and change my shipping address from my P.O. box to my home address and for the items I wanted before Christmas and its moving insanely fast now. I had two items ordered off the U.S. store and they both were shipped and delivered within three days. Normally all my U.S. orders take 5 days to a week or longer before they ever hit my P.O. box but I must say this Dragonfly courier service that has been delivering everything is absolutely awesome. I'm seriously rethinking renewing my expensive P.O. Box next May when it comes up for renewal. Very impressed so far.

I much more prefer using my free Flex PO Box. No excuses for 'not finding' my place, CanPost sends me an email (unlike whoever amazon is using) and I dont have to rush out to get the package before someone else does after refreshing amazon's tracking page every 15 minutes to find out if it has been delivered.
Purolator sent me an email the next day after the package actually arrived. Last edited by Deadend45; 12-15-2024 at 05:11 PM. |
