Possible Upgrades:

Apollo 13
Cinderella Man
Red Dragon
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
The Mummy
The Mummy Returns
Field of Dreams
Casino
40 Year Old Virgin
Being John Malkovich
The Pianist

Must Haves:

Spy Game
12 Monkeys
Miami Vice
Hollywoodland
Smoking Aces
The Game
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Shaun of the Dead

Want so badly it hurts:

The Bourne Trilogy
Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas
Children of Men
Hot Fuzz
What Dreams May Come
Knocked Up

and of course...SERENITY. I've actually been jealous of HD DVD owners since the 1st round of releases (April 18th, 2006) because this was one of the four original releases on the format. Please Universal, give me my Joss Whedon on BD...this goes for everyone who has the rights to his TV shows as well.

I'll have one of those as well! Oh yeah and the brand new Knight Rider movie! I was sweating that one before today. Now it seems old Uni has plenty of time and only one HD option. hehehehehehehe

I think odds are pretty high Universal will do some straight VC-1 ports from HD-DVD to Blu-ray Disc just to establish a "beach head" in the BD market.

Probably The Bourne Ultimatum and a handful of other previous HD-DVD releases could be in Blu-ray packaging within the next few weeks. They'll be basic in nature, but will at least work for the time being.

"Double dipping" releases have been a sad reality in home video even way back in the peak days of VHS. I expect some bare bones Universal, Paramount and Dreamworks BD discs in the near term. And then they'll go back and revisit the audio-video masters, work on more extras content and other features and release some "getting it right" versions in another year or two.

The Big Lebowski is another one I want! I want a better cover than the HD-DVD one though.

If they (stuff released already) are just HD-DVD ports, I will buy NONE.

Should they be top-notch BLU releases, I would consider:

1. Mummy series
2. Bourne series
3. Casino
4. Backdraft
5. Pride & Prejudice
6. Carlito's Way
7. Stardust
8. Eastern Promises
9. Elizabeth
10. The Kingdom
11. Shaun of the Dead
12. Liar, Liar

There's no way in hell I'm buying HD DVD ports. I might as well save a bundle and just buy the soon-to-be cheap HD DVDs.

Here is my list from Universial

1. Bourne Series
2. Back to the Future Series
3. American Gangster
4. The Kingdom
5. Heroes Season 1 & 2

And since paramount has to turn Blu, i don't have to worry about not getting Iron Man on BD
