In fairness, I set that up as a UK discount code thread, not just HMV, but yeah I know what you mean. My requests to have that moved back were ignored.

They've what?!?! Put it back, please, mods!

This is a UK (and Ireland) thread for UK (and Ireland) people, we'll have no trouble here!

Oh, and I'd like to see a bluray release for League of Gentlemen movie. (Pemberton/Gatiss/Shearsmith)

THE KEEP has come out on 4K in the US and soon to be in Auz.... I'd snap up things like WAVELENGTH and THE PARK IS MINE.

Another John Le Carré that's missing a UK blu is THE TAILOR OF PANAMA (with Pierce Brosnan).... and there's an old ITV production or A MURDER OF QUALITY which I've never seen - it's got Denholm Elliot as Smiley? Can't be bad! (Dunno if it was film or videotape)

And another thing — could 2025 be the year the TVS archive finally escapes from limbo and we get KNIGHTS OF GOD on disc? Christ knows we all could do with more dystopian fiction starring John Woodbine, Gareth Thomas and Patrick Troughton in our lives

I have that bluray set, it's a superb series. Tbh it looks to me like the bluray were mastered from transmission prints, rather than the original camera negs - so the PQ is commensurate with that - still light years ahead of what a DVD would be though.

If we really did live in a civilised world, the BBC would have released season boxsets of HORIZON and there'd also be sets of QED. And I would snap them up in a trice.
Sadly though though we live in a dumbed down world where when they make a 'science documentary' today it just has Brian Cox going 'fckin amazing' and if you typed out the script it would usually be shorter than the intro paragraph of yer average wikipedia article.

I love this site and the posters are amazing and informative but I’ve never understood the modding on this site. Do we not even get a uk mod for the uk bit? How does it work?

Another thing I would love to see on Bluray boxsets is the BBC making more of its drama back catalogue available. The BFI seems to have given up on Play for Today again.
Would be amazing to get sets of Screen Two and Screen One
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_Two
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_One
A smattering of the plays have ended up released on their own or as part of other things (eg Ghost Watch, Contact, A Very Polish Practice), but I want them all!

Good point totally agree. Vintage BBC is the best in television. The BFI said the play’s for today sold reallly badly. Tbh I think it’s because they didn’t seem particularly good value for money with not enough plays in each set. So no more of those will be coming.

I don't think the BFI's marketing decisions were quite the best with those sets:
- entirely random selections of plays, many of which had already got DVD releases. It would be much better to put out 'season boxsets' - the latter appeals to collectors' mindsets more. (I know the plays are all standalones, and have no links except they were broadcast in the same weekly slot: but people just like to feel they're getting a coherent selection... and actually, one of the plays on the first set was a sequel to a play from the year before (the one with Brian Glover on a canal boat)).
If people already have one or two of the plays on DVD, they're less inclined to upgrade.
- wasting budget paying media studies tutors to write censorious woke essays on each play and put them in a booklet. Most of the people buying this stuff are of a older generation and don't appreciate some 20-sthg academic grifter lecturing them on the thought-crime contained within what they're watching.

Another one I'd love to see on bluray: BBC Scotland miniseries THE MAD DEATH (1983) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mad_Death

Simply Media release a very unrestored DVD of it - it was all shot on film so would look oooodles better on bluray, if the BBc haven't junked the negs!
Everyone needs to see Ed Bishop get menaced by a rabid fox!

Student Bodies 4K
Spies Like Us 4K
Wrongfully Accused
Rhinestone
Wacky Races
The New Scooby Doo and Scrappy Show

Everything else from this list I either don't care for, find to be one of the worst shows, or films ever made, or I just plain despise. Sorry Justin I'm not the biggest fan of this list and that's fine. I mean really The Oogieloves movie, and The Bobbleheads Movie are you serious? Honestly, the fact that you want these movies on Blu-Ray is a bit nuts considering how notoriously awful these films are just saying. Like almost no one enjoys either of these films except you and an incredibly small amount of people. I think you have some of the strangest tastes Movie wise on this forum.

Sorry it didn't make your approval. I thought this was what individuals wanted, Not just you.

Yeah you're right I just really despise those two movies, but I guess there are fans out there of those two movies. I guess my post was a bit ignorant sorry all of us movie fans have different tastes after all. I guess I just started ranting a lot about your wishlist, and it became an attack on your list so I deeply apologize for that.
