However, putting that question a side, there are multiple threads about retailers e.g. Rarewaves, WOWHD, Amazon, HMV etc, this is just another where folks can post both their positive or negative experiences.

Well, that would mean we wouldn't be sharing.

It's not mind blowing like the 20% off at HMV. Should that have not been posted too? I've no doubt the 1,500,000+ views of the HMV thread means a lot of people got a lot from that 20% off.

Forums are about sharing. I gave away my last 10 HMV codes and it's cost me £££s but it's about sharing or I'd never post anything.


Browns prices have always been quite good too for most labels so there's nothing new here really.

I guess now I will revert back to the old days of occasionally preordering from HMV or direct with labels occasionally, maybe Rarewaves if it’s payday, and otherwise scaling back on preorders altogether. I suppose eventually a lot of this stuff will be in sales/promotions elsewhere but there’s of course the risk of things going OOP all of a sudden (it’s harder to guess what will and won’t these days).

Y’all had me scared there for a minute - the VAT alone on my purchases would probably be more than I should be spending monthly on this hobby full stop!

But yeah its clear that it does actually break down VAT at checkout.


Also given they currently have a bunch of Criterions below what we can get elsewhere, but higher than HMV’s sale prices last November (£10.79 for a standard Blu-ray versus the cheapest ones at Brown's are £12.72) which also have to include VAT it doesn’t seem too crazy.

Jesus, I made an innocent mistake because the exact same scenario to the one I assumed happened at a warehouse retailer I once worked at. That still doesn't give you the right to talk to people like that, and it's not the first time you've randomly picked malcontented fights on here.
