I didn't buy the first film because I thought it was just okay. However, I really liked 2.0 so I'll either buy this or perhaps a 2-pack if there is one.

The two-pack is already up for pre-order at Amazon and Gruv, on Blu and 4K.

At least they're not pulling that old 'Blu-ray now, UHD 6 months later' schtick.

Just a baffling decision to age her in that way.

But of course, the most damning choice is the move away from horror lite.

I watched Companion over the weekend, and for the upcoming SOULM8TE, the movies read as one in the same, but I'm assuming hopes are to usher in a new craze similar to slashers of the 80's where AI and robotics takes center stage.

I think I read that they aged her so the actress/dancer could keep playing her, which is admirable for a movie studio.

So same runtime for both cuts? Kind of underwhelming after the director mentioned "extra scenes that didn’t make it into the theatrical version".

The unrated cut of the original was the same, just a lot of CGI blood added in.

It was not just CGI, as most of it was practical gore.
If you compare the scene in the elevator, you can tell it's a different shot in the unrated version. And the cut neck, was practical. The theatrical version, of the scene, was probably re-shot, when they decided to go with PG-13 instead. And the ear ripping, cut away in the PG-13 version, while it was seen in full in the unrated.

PG-13 vs Unrated Elevator scene:

Not normally a steelbook fan but I liked the version of the first film enough to buy a copy. I preordered the steel for the second film too because I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing they don't match.

I don’t believe the runtime is for the unrated version; the only rating in the specs is PG-13 and the unrated is listed as a special feature. That and the director specifically mentioned having to keep the theatrical under 2 hours so I expect the unrated will be over that.

Can someone tell me if the digital version released today includes the unrated version? If it doesn't, I'll wait to buy it until the unrated version is released. Thanks!

Well, damn this was much more fun than expected.
I seriously have no problems, with this franchise going into sci-fi action, after seeing this.
And I'm glad it wasn't the first movie all over again.
I kinda felt like a mix of Mission:Impossible and Terminator.

The fight choreography was pretty good, and I bet the stunt guys, got a few bruises, after some of the falls. Some which made me cringe, just like in those 80:s Jackie Chan movies.

Though, sadly the version I saw, was the PG-13 version, and it was VERY obvious, where they quickly cut away from some of the deaths, and also, using CGI, to cover up the juicy bits, from a torn off arm. And in one shot, you could see a body in the background, laying in a pool of blood, while there was zero blood, in the earlier wide shot. Guess they missed to erase that one. It's a bit jarring, when there is some blood in one shot, and nothing in the next one.

Overall, it didn't really hurt the movie much. But I can't wait to watch the uncut version, when the disc arrives.

IF we get a third movie, I hope they don't go back to full horror, but makes it a mix of horror and action.

Even though it was a flop in theaters, I'll bet it'll find the audience, and maybe become a cult classic, on digital/disc. Though I can understand why people expecting more horror, was disappointed.
