Die Hard
Die Hard 2
Robocop
Robocop 2

All four movies are in desperate need of 4K restorations and re-mastered audio.

The best disc currently is the French release (not sure if its region free, but it may have 50Hz content): https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Crash-Blu-ray/21003/

I think some Lionsgate films need an upgrade, most of the Warner movies do. I mean DD 5.1 on a high def format? That has kept me from buying a lot of their titles. Hopefully they will fix Terminator 3.

I happen to like the lionsgate movies most are in dts-hd 7.1 which is a bonus for those of us with 7.1 equipment. The two discrete rear channels, as opposed to matrixed ones of faked out with pro logic II or neo 6, really make a big difference! Now that I think about it, though, you do have a point with some of their older movies released on blu ray. Total Recall looks just like the special editon dvd that I already had, although it sounds better, and The Running Man, which i just purchased in the last week, isn't much better!

Indeed they do. I watched Stargate a few nights ago and it reminded me why 7.1 is the best quality.

I'd say American Psycho could desperately use some help. One of my favorite movies looks rather like ass at this point (slightly better than DVD, but the print has so much dirt and crap that it's kind of distracting at some points).

King of California could as well (only because it's a 720p master or something similar)... it looks really great style wise (color, depth, etc.), but it's just not 1080p (jaggies are easily seen everywhere). It could probably be a top tier title if it wasn't for that. I still love it regardless though.

Those are the only two I own that I can think of that could likely look far better if a bit more work was put into the master.

Yes, I agree.

Once they remaster it, I'm going to hire two women to watch the movie with me just so I can say:

"LOOK AT HIM"
"LOOK AT HIM"

(If you've seen the movie then you know what I'm talking about)

By the by, I've heard the "Talladega Nights" could use an upgrade in the picture.

I thought Sleepy Hollow looked much better than the DVD. The black level was much darker than the DVD and the Blu-ray wasn't as washed out as the DVD. I'm not sure what you were expecting.

Hoosiers needs to be remastered. It is one of my favorite sports movies and it looks almost identical to the dvd.

I have a good one. War of the worlds, with Tom Cruise. I was so exited when it came out recently on blu ray and then i was so disappointed when I took it home and watched it. There was no improvement AT ALL in the grainy picture, it was just like the dvd. The audio is great in 5.1 dts-hd-ma, its really improved, but they didn't put any effort into the picture quality AT ALL! I waited over a year for that movie to be released on blu ray and was sorely disappointed. I dont trade in movies or games, but if i did, then i would trade that one!

War of the Worlds is supposed to be grainy. That is the Directors intention. Picture quality on this disc is very good indeed although not quite as good as the audio quality.
