Sorry to troll but look at laser tv...even better than OLED, they can produce 90%+ of what the human eye can see, and according to recent reports a 60+inch could possibly cost >$2000. Laser is good for stationary pics, but OLED is literally flexible which has many awesome aplications. The next few years are going to be sweet!

Pretty much the only people buying this TV right now are the ones that will have it on their desk, or mounted in the throne room so they don't miss a play during (American) football season...

I have discovered I have really good taste in electronics. I always want the very best. My wallet disagrees with my tastes though, and my bank account has the final say.

I would kill to have an OLED TV in the 50 to 60" size. I have a feeling though, they wont be available for several years, and when they do appear, I probably won't be able to afford it.

I guess I'll have to keep my plasma for a few years more.

"Are you talking about that little a$$ 11 inch for $2500? Yeah...I saw it at the Sony Style store in Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta, and it did make my TV look like sh!t."

Wow, an 11" screen, I'm just dying to rush out & spend $2,500 for 11".

"I'm watching Lawrence of Arabia..." Looks closer. "Hey, those little dots are camels."

Jon Stewart from the 2008 Academy Awards.

No one knows if these TV's will have long term problems. The organic blue compound currently has a life span of 5000 hours. Not very long... especially at $2500 for 11 inches. So maybe we will find out sooner than later if these things will suffer burn-in, dead pixels, dead colors... who knows. Cross your fingers and wait another 6 years to see if this technology is at a point where you'd prefer it over plasma.

Just be sure to play the Wii on a different TV and you should be fine :P

I guess it would be a problem, but I don't know. I've never broken a TV yet.

I think that's a stretch, but my sister has LCD in her windows for automatic tinting, so who would have thought that was possible 20 years ago......
The flexible screen is the OLED technology. We may eventually be able to wear animated advertisements on our clothes!

Yeah. "The Next TV" just opened yesterday at my local Sony Store.

WOW, that is an incredible picture. CAD$2500

It is going to be HUGE if they can ramp up size and bring down the prices. It's absolutely my next TV. .

I hope they can get it to double size, and full HD (it's 11" and 1/4HD) at half the price. For computer monitors and bedroom TVs $1250 it would be a good price point.

As soon as the technology of injet printing of polymer OLEDs improves, we'll start seeing OLEDs at reasonable prices. Until then, don't hold your breath.

I know these are "Old News" now..... But I inquired about possibly doing Rear-Projection with OLED (if it looks that great, why not right?) just like they do Rear-projection LCD..... I was told that it's so thin, it needs a solid black back-drop.... so I guess it's not possible for this technology.....

Laser is for projection. Which means some sort of reflective or transmissive technology like LCOS, LCD, or DLP. Laser is just the light-source that replaces the bulb (and does improve image and might eliminate color wheels and color filters). But you still have dithering and other issues like screen-door.

Laser isn't the holy-grail of image reproduction, but it could be the holy-grain of image projection.
