Default 2.0 Silly Platform

I will never have any use for 2.0 once I found out what it was- more extras only; nothing to do with A/V

Default HDMI PCM output limited to 6 channel???

Owners,

I just wanted confirmation on the following: I was comparing the 3800 against the 2500 on the UK Denon website and it stated that the 3800 is capable of 8 channel PCM output over HDMI vs only 6 channel PCM output for the 2500. I understand that the 2500 is primarily a transport and is bitstreaming most of the time and PCM is normally not an issue. However, I thought of the following theoretical situation: if a 2500 owner had a 7.1 speaker setup and just happened to play a movie that only had 7.1 PCM as its lossless track (ie. 3:10 to Yuma), what happens to the 2 additional channels?!!

Here is the website. Check out under "Connectors" what it says for PCM over HDMI:

My one and only complaint with this player is that if there's the smallest scratch in a disk my 2500 freaks out and cant play it. My blu-ray's are in perfect shape and play great but at least 50% of my netflix blu-ray's have a problem. Other then that the player is amazing but it is a huge deal. All the movies that the 2500 skipps on play fine on my sony s300 and ps3.

Just my 2 cents.
